Edgware go TOP thanks to neighbours Kingsbury win at Leverstock

Recommended Posts

Edgware went back to the top of the SSML Prem, with a 2-1 victory over Aylesbury Vale at the WLG. Edgware were two nil up at HT, and should have and could have scored five, but they wasted some great chances. Aylesbury scored early in the second period, and Edgware could not add to their first half lead.

As the game wore on Edgware became increasingly sloppy, and gave the ball away far too cheaply. Vale nearly punished Edgware for such lax play, when they had a couple of good chances to draw level.

What looked at one stage like an easy three points, ended up with Edgware somewhat relived to end up with the win.

The resutls went our way BIG time, with Kingsbury doing us a huge favour and winning at Leverstock, and Harefield losing yet again!

So, we go top by a point with a game in hand over Green <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The pic is of Richard Morton's excellent goal, he hit it on the volley.

Still a long was to go. Yes Edgware are doing well but the time to 'crow' is the seasons end not early November.

When your own team haven't played, there's not much to say, is there? Well done, and results certinly went your way. 46 people at Broxbourne v Harefield, 56 at our RESERVE game!

Im not convinced about the Ruislip attendance that has been given, it is only 28 which is half of their previous lowest.
I'm not so sure, there may have been a boycott due to their unhappiness over Lambourne, Uduma and Barker, I get the impression that the Grosvenor Vale faithful want rid of the three of them, one person in particular.

Do you mind explaining that last remark Rhodes. If its me you are talking about then it's libellous. If not then it's still worthy of a retraction.

RMFC are building a squad to be able to challenge for the SSML title maybe this season (unlikely given seven defeats already but you never know) but hopefully next year. Lambourne, Barker and Kalu are part of that squad. I have given my opinions on Lambourne as a player many times and also Kalu while Barker I have only seen spasmodically so cannot give judgement. Kalu I think I agree with Rak's assesment of him in that he is talented but needs to learn and develop. Please reread all my comments regarding those players and identify anywhere where I specifically say I want rid of them if indeed the 'one person in particular' you refer to is me. I want actual direct quotes Rhodes..you can always trawl through posts at 3.17am as you are signed on then and it must be pretty lonely. Just because my opinions do not agree with your over inflated hyperbolic opinion of these players does not mean I or indeed anyone wants them out the club. Infact the only person who can make that decision is the manager of the club or the player in question himself.

As for the attendance AWK I don't know either in that it seemed a normal Saturday crowd to me.

Well just to keep the peace I will say that it wasn't you I was referring to, it was someone else. I'm sorry but I just can't help getting the impression that Lambourne, Uduma and the Great Arthur Barker aren't fully appreciated at Grosvenor Vale and the Ruislip faithful take them for granted as if they're just ordinary run of the mill players when they should be going down in front of them in a 'we are not worthy' fashion Clement Temile style. Lambourne, for example, would have been welcomed with open arms at any of the other 19 Club's in the SSML Premier Division and the red carpet would be rolled out every time he and his dad Dave walked through the gate.

Okay who were you talking about then??? A name Rhodes...a name as it can only be Spider or MB100 really can't it.

And that claim without being disrespectful to Tommy Lambourne is ludicrous like much of the crass exaggerated tripe you post on here.

Kalu is a forward and in front of him at the club are Mickey Swaysland 23 goals and counting this season and the mercurial Chris Henry who better judges of a player than you or me Rhodes think is a talent...including Rak whose views I believe you have some respect for. Kalu is therefore going to struggle to get a start for Manor if those two are fit and available.

As for Arthur Barker I don't know what his best position is. If its centre midfield than I can think of four players at the club ahead of him in the pecking order based on what I have seen so far.

Can I say categorically that your assumption would not apply to Hertford Town? You are a complete twerp, to borrow a description from someone else. You do these players no favours at all by these silly claims - if they were as good as you claim, they would not be remotely interested in playing at ANY of the 21 SML Premier sides!

Horace - Well as I've said all along they are selling themselves short and should certainly be playing in the Ryman League Division 1 North at the very least, I am still at a loss as to why Lambourne made a b line for Grosvenor Vale when he could walk into Park Lane, Parkfield or the Abrahams Stadium for example.

Maybe because we wanted him.
