Well, i might be tempted.

Went to see Lewes yesterday who should have gone ahead and were the better team for most of the first half. The final scoreline flattered Darlington.

There ground is going to look really impressive, but i'm not sure its really a conference supporting town.

And to think eight seasons ago they nearly got relegated out of the ryman league and bankrupt in front of gates of less than 50. Miracles do happen!

BR, what's the latest with their ground? I saw the far end all dug up and looking ready for some work to be done on it, are they simply going to have something similar at that end to the terracing they've already got? In fairness, this should have been done years ago and I reckon they are only doing it now to keep themselves in that league.

Like Matt said the old stand is now a very plush 640 seater sand, there's terracing and new turnstiles going up behind the goal and all this will mean they won't miss out on a chance of a play offs like they have the last two seasons. Hey, they've even got an electronic scoreboard.

Their problem was they got promoted too quickly (remember they jumped two leagues during the re-organisation)and that Lewes Council wouldn't let them demolish an old flint wall so they couldn't have segregation.

I do think its worth mentioning the state the club was in just eight years back, and that fortunes do change quickly in non league football. When we went there a few years back in an FA Cup match, none of us would imagine where the club would be or the ground would look like now.
