What's happened to the rugby club, surely if things are so bad they could benefit from a partnership with the football club?

 

The pitches can't be much worse than Windsor's.

 

Personally I'd prefer a new start in lower leagues than the present situation. If we could get something together in Upton Court we'd be in the borough and in control of our own destiny.

 

It's not ideal, but it's better than oblivion....

Just wanted to say that I think that Drakey has done great job over the last few matches. He has played for us when he was obviously injured and had the flu but he wouldn't let us down. But people just see what they want to see and to put the blame on the keeper when they don't know the facts. I think we should be giving him credit instead of slagging him off.

Posh - the simple fact is Drake cocked up yesterday on the first good and proper and it was there that the match was lost. He could have had two severed legs yesterday and still made a better effort for it.

King Tut-I thought Drake was having a very good game and yes,it was his fault for the 1st goal but his general performance was one of his better games.I thought we were lacking in any midfield creativity and sorely missed Wallace[and we never got to see the best of him]as could hold the ball up and would also do the knock downs/headers for Telemaque to run on to.Miller unfotunately is not that type of player.If we could get one type of player in.I think it's got to be a target man.Someone who is a pain in the [****!!****] for defenders.Mind you,the way things are going, players seem to be going out,not in!

Disappointed Mark West didn't try anything tactical when 2-0.I know he's probably targeting important games with the bottom sides coming up,but he didn't try re-shaping at all and just persisted in abusing the officials.While they were bloody awful,we need leadership,motivation and dogged,fighting spirit for the betterment of the team.I know he only had 2 fit substitutes.He could have reverted to a 3 man defence[3-5-2]or [4-3-3]pushing Davies upfront.I'm of the theory that we should be ultra attack minded when we play the top teams.Take the game to them,as we're on a hiding to nothing,anyway.We can adopt a more cautious approach to the teams around us to ensure we do not drop points against them.

I thought drake had a decent game but when he costs us a goal again it does ruin the performance. i have been getting more and more worried about him coming rushing out of his area to clear the ball.

well i fully expected us to get thumped again today but 2-0 against a team on form is a good result considering the squad we have at the moment.

That's the problem with being a goalkeeper. Mistakes cost games. Other positions get away with it more.

 

Apart from the mistake, I thought he had a good game. He made some good saves and controlled his area well.

I genuinely thought he was having a decent game until the mistake and i also felt we would probably grab a one - nil. I made the foolish mistake of saying both these things out loud and it all went tits up. Trouble with Drake is that he has made too many mistakes this season that have cost goals. You need a bit of luck as a keeper and he has not had the rub of the green and it is hard to tell how much his injury is affecting him.

 

So do we know why the players were talking about not coming out? Is it because they have not been paid or because one of their number started rumours about them not being paid? Wouldn't this be a good moment for the club to say something?

I've heard a couple of things about supposedly which players weren't happy, but that's not for public discussion. As for the club saying something, they have. It's the forums fault and not their own doing.

yes, that old chestnut about not singing behind the goal which has brought vast amounts of silverware to Portsmouth and Newcastle...

I had not heard about the forum being blamed for this one - except for the two posts by Gary which did not exactly go into detail. I got a call at 2.15 saying the game was in doubt as there was talk the players would not come out and that the fans were being advised to hang on before paying to come through the turnstiles so as to avoid the need for refunds. By the time I got to the ground there was no doubt we would play.

Looks like it will need the papers to run a story on this to get a statement from the club!

 

If the club is in as bad a position as the "rumours" say why does the club or the Trust not communicate with the fans to see if there is a solution.

 

Problem is there have been no facts and only rumours so far.

because Staines, if I go to Roy and ask him about the future of the club I will get one of the two following actions:

 

1. "I'm telling you in the strictest confidence..." so I can't tell anyone

2. I hear what i want to hear but have to put it on the forum, where is will not be an official channel of the club and therefore be taken as rumour and hearsay.

 

So what is the actual point of going to speak to Roy (after all, I doubt he actually knows anything more than we do)?

Also think the Combined Counties league would be the best option as there would be a lot of local games and a lot of the grounds are half decent now, think most people would stick with the club if the right people were running it. Banstead dropped down to that league as they could no longer pay there players, but still at the end of the day we are without a ground and probably sharing at Beconsfield could be a cheaper option?
