Slough vs Heybridge S - MATCH UPDATES

Players supposedly strike before the game over postings on here regarding players not getting paid, and once again, its all the forums fault. Lots of talking before the game and players late out, but came out eventually.

Anyway, players lined up and the Slough line up is:

Kieron Drake, Steve Dell, Marc Leach, John Mills, Steve Daly, Michael Alexis, George Moleski, Leigh Mason, Matt Miller, Errol Telemaque, Terry Davies.

Subs: Darron Wilkinson, Mark Bartley, Carl Marsh.

Heybridge Line Up:

Danny Gay, Russell Pond, Ian Cousins, Michael Shinn, Ian Wiles, Stuart Nethercott, Danny Barber, Warren Ryan, Sean Marks, Richard Jolly, Gary Burrell.

Subs: Gareth Heath, Gianni Frankis, Mark Redaway, Jamie Richards.

Fairly even opening, with Heybridge coming closest so far with Jolly rounding Drake, but wide enough to not be able to shoot. Slough have had some half chances well blocked in an entertaining start to the match.

Sean Marks put in behind the defence twice in quick succession. Drake cuts out the initial through ball and moment later Marks finds himself with a bit of space, but his attempted lob to catch Drake off his line is easily caught by Drake.

Neat play in and around the box creates some space for Jolly, but the normally lethal striker blazes over from 15 yards out.

Long ball over the top left for Gary Burrell to run on to, Drake half got to the ball first but the ball went up over his head and Burrell did his best to miss the open goal, striking the far post before the ball rolled along the line and into the opposite side of the net. Slough 0-1 Heybridge.

Leach booked for a foul on the edge of the area. Resultant free kick blocked. Slough break down the other end of frustrations are reaching boiling point with a poor refereeing display as Telemaque is fouled in the box, which goes unpunished by the ref and his assistant. Errol does manage to get a shot off however after finally breaking away from an over zealous marker, but Gay saves for a corner.
