players unrest at not being paid!

You heard it round the local area did you? Well who would have thought that we would be the talk of the town!

I'm not going to dispute what you've written, given I haven't got the facts to prove them one way or another. However, I do find it strange that you have managed to glean these nuggets of information from around the 'local area' when the majority of the population probably don't know that Slough has a football team, let alone has insider knowledge of the payments the players receive (or not).

Not suprised the players are not happy.

Just as we are starting to pick up in the league[apart from sat]this happens.

Think this is the start of some major trouble ahead.

And i ask myself[why]. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

WHY? - you may not be surprised the players are not happy but it should come as no surprise to those same players if payment is not forthcoming. Even the most naive of our playing staff must have known when joining the club that it has had a bit of a reputation for running out of cash over the last 8 seasons and that they may not receive their wages when they expect to. Any player knowingly joining a club in a precarious financial state and then gets all upset when the money runs dry is stupid.

Now if what Saints says is true, that they have not been paid for 5 weeks - well that didn't appear to affect the performance against Billericay and Staines!

Saints - you claimed that the players haven't been paid for five weeks. We beat Staines three and a half weeks back. Therefore by your 'facts' payment would NOT have been up to date. By all means discuss whether they are getting paid, I suspect myself they are probably out of pocket at the moment, but don't keep changing your 'facts' to suit your argument

And going on your comment about the last two results - the Leighton one was disappointing though we were playing effectively with 9 men as Wilko and Jarvis should not have been on the pitch because of injury and Leighton had the new manager effect. As for Boreham Wood - would a full strength team have done better than lose 6-0? I would like to think so, but then we weren't the first team to concede 6 against them this season and I'm pretty certain that Margate were not fielding a scratch team and down to 10 men for 75 minutes.

I saw a post to this effect on the Southern League forum last week. Why it was posted there, I don't know. These kinds of things get leaked all the time, and I don't think anyone could be surprised if it was true anyway. I just hope our better players can stick it out and help us this season.

If the players have not been payed for 4 weeks that means that we run out of money after approx. 2 months.

I find this hard to believe.

I've worked out that we've taken approx. £8,550 in gate receipts.

This is without season ticket money, programmes and the raffle.

Does anyone know what the player budget is?

Someone on the management team told me that nobody is on more that £50 a week and some are on less.

Hard to Believe?? Agree with king tut everything is perfect at the club and once we get our players back we will climb up the league and may even reach the play offs, lets all look to the future with great optimism hey mr tut

Were you born obtuse or is it an ailment that has developed over time?
