Our chances against Cambridge United

Today was the final nail in the coffin as far as away games are concerned. I'm sick to death forking out hard earned money to watch the shambles of a performance like todays. As a season ticket holder I will continue watching the Fleet at home, but away games, league or cup, no matter how well we do, I won't be attending. Talking to other sufferers who travelled on the minibus today, I'm not alone.

Ooohhhh......well, we must have a good cup run some time.....so you won't be going to Arsenal/Spurs/Man U away in the 3rd round of the FA cup next year then ?? Spooky Spooky.....it will come true....and you won't be there to see it....that's a shame.

Cheers.

Try going by train, <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> took an hour just to walk from the station to the ground despite what's the Cambridge site says.

I was thinking more along the lines for the rest of this season Hirsty. Come next season I'll be chomping at the bit.

What annoys me too, is that we made such a great start to the season, so whats changed.

It doesn't look good, but given that the bad spell has only lasted three games so far, some perspective is probably needed here.

For those feeling discouraged from following the team away, it's important to note that only two of our away games out of eleven this season (Chelmsford and Cambridge) have been very disappointing spectacles from a Fleet point of view.

Naturally, if we carry on playing like we have been in the last three weeks, that ratio will increase.

But staying away from games when one has the opportunity to go only makes one feel sickened when one misses seeing the hugely enjoyable outcomes (e.g. St. Albans a few weeks ago). Witnessing abject defeats makes experiencing fine victories all the more enjoyable - a fine example being our last minute winner at Canvey last season only days after our humbling at Grays.

Won't be going to the Trophy final if we reach it (unlikely I know), then, Red Neck?

Quinn was indeed booked and will now serve a suspension, for those unaware.

Which will no doubt satify his critics, (of which I am not one).

However, given our current form, a change may be of benefit to both him and the team, although we will miss his experience and ability as a holding player.

It is difficult to se who will be a direct replacement - I would go for Long, with Debolla in a forward midfield role, with Keeling and Anderson/Slatter on the flanks.

Unless you follow Man U/Chelsea/Arsenal or Liverpool ( though not on today's showing...play Gerrard in the middle Rafa...you know it makes sense !)......then following a football team is always sh*t.....but we all love it really.

Shame a chap felt the need to write to the Distorter to vent his anger at the Chelmsford debacle !! Yes, we all know it was sh*t....but why throw your toys out of the pram and say that you are never going again ? If you win, then get p*ssed in celebration of the result ! If you lose...well....get p*ssed anyway and maybe have a curry as well !!

Onwards & upwards !!

Cheers,
