Our chances against Cambridge United

What do you think our chances are against Cambridge United?

If we win, we go up to 4th place in the table, and looking at the stats of Cambridge and Gravesend, I am saying that we have a good chance.

Cambridge have not scored many goals this season - they have scored 16 compared with the 26 we have scored. Cambridge have not kept a clean sheet in their past 6 games, and with our strong front line, we definately have a good chance of scoring on Saturday (though they have kept 5 clean sheets this season). Plus, they have lost their last two home games, and their top goalscorers have scored 3 goals a piece:

Richardson 3

Brady 3

Marum 3

Simpson 2

Jaszczun 1

Carey-Bertram 1

Peters 1

Sedgemore 1

Cambridge United will obviously be looking to win this game to get crawling back up the table, so let us hope to see a good display from the Fleet, who have not scored in their two previous games.

Rob Quinn will need to watch his step on Saturday, he currently has 4 yellow cards and if he were to get booked on Saturday, he would miss the Oxford United home game on the following Saturday. Mark DeBolla is also on 4 yellow cards, but is unlikely to feature in the Cambridge game, according to the Reporter.

To note, Jon Keeling, Luke Moore and James Smith are on 3 yellow cards each.

If Cambridge are as poor as they were at Stonebridge Road the other week, it would take a pretty shoddy performance from us to not come away with the three points.

It's hard to see them playing that poorly again though.

Nah, last goal's the winner. Even if the score is 4-0.

I didn't say the first goal would be the winner I said that whoever scores first will win.

I meant as in the schoolyard favourite 'last goal's the winner'. I wasn't being literal...

Two whooooshes..........!

Mark played 60 minutes in a reserve game this week and is making good progress. A place on the bench may not be out of the question.

James Smith is on 4 yellows

However, Onome Sodje's goal tally is incorrect (unless I'm mistaken) so being on a different figure may not entirely be out of the question

Sorry Dave, not ment to be a dig

Was that the reserve game were the Fleet got thumped 5-0 by Charlton at Sparrows Lane, it was reported on the Addicks website as one of the Referee's who tained at Charlton took charge of the game. Probably helped both teams out with giving players some match practice. The Fleet need to find the way back to goal, and that would be a start tomorrow, a win would be welcome but a draw would be a good result too. We need to be postive and having watched the highlights of the Morecambe game on Conference Football TV we had our chances up there and it was a bizarre goal which maybe cost us a point. We need to get back on track and keep picking up points, I still feel that anywhere is the top 10 at the end of the season would be a magnificent achievement for the management and the players.

And there lies our problem.

Whatever formation we play, it seems, and whatever line up we have, we will continue to get poor results UNTIL we get the ball on the ground, and do what we do best - pass the bl**dy thing.

Didn't see or hear the game, but I have a feeling that this was another hoof and rush, route one spectacle, the likes of which were played over and over again last year.

Just hope we can get back to playing the ball on the floor next week.
