Still at Stevenage - occasionally in the first team, but now more commonly understudy to Danny Potter (ex-Canvey).

Hmmmmmm......now let's not take the piss ! None of my contacts know anything about it ( but one of them isn't Brian Laws !!). But having no money to get anyone decent in, and Mark Crossley on loan as part of the youth policy ( I would have got Pressman back myself !!) then it wouldn't come as a surprise.

 

As for "architects of their own downfall" that started in the 1990's when they appointed David Pleat as manager !!!.....and after that then the rot really set in....Gilles de Bilde, Wim Jonk, Andy Hinchcliffe....and a host of players that only "turned up" every few weeks, but commanded vast amounts of money, which, stupidly, Wednesday paid. In fact Wim Jonk got paid win bonus money even if he wasn't playing......! Nice work if you can get it !!

Di Canio & Carbone were both great players but as I said, didn't perform consistently enough for my liking. Give me Waddle & Hirst anyday !!(...and they were probably much cheaper to employ !)

I think he very nearly played for them.

 

It was ten years ago this season that Sheffield Wednesday were top of the table quite early on in the season. Both them and Chelsea up there when they met, Wednesday had a 100% record and Chelsea were unbeaten. Andy Myers soon sorted that nasty Wednesday lot out.

Wednesday had Cantona on trial, but Trevor Francis couldn't make up his mind about him so wanted to see him play another game. with that, Cantona copped the hump and b*ggered off to Leeds !
