This bloke could be a Conference Chairman

His best quote was...

Quote:
One or two people thought we'd sell out, but most thought we'd only get a couple of thousand.

Carlsberg don't do Tinpot Non-League Chairman statements...

I wonder if anyone thought of buying tickets for Gravesham council to go along to the big day?
It wouldn't do any harm for them to see a brand new state of the art packed stadium paid for by the council.

We have Cambridge Away on Saturday!

And? Gravesham council won't be very well represented at the Abbey on saturday, why not go along to see the new stadium.

Dartford FC and Dartford Council appear to be a shining example of Co-operation for building a new ground. Everyone should be hoping that Brians comments on co-operation with Gravesham(and i hope the SHAM part is not significant)Council are as fruitful. I want to visit Gravesend(in the near future) , and would love to see the club in a new ground.

Not necessarily that "shining" seeing as how Dartford have been homeless for about 14 years! However, you really have to admire Dartford FC for keeping going without a proper home for so long. And although it took them an awful long time, the council eventually did come up trumps. No doubt there will be a huge number of fairweather supporters turn up on their debut and then disappear again until they draw a peach of a draw against a League side in some future FA Cup competition. A bit like us against Aston Villa in fact. I recently overheard someone talking to a Fleet fan on a 'bus who mentioned that he had travelled to Villa " a couple of years ago" and clearly had never seen them since. I couldn't resist butting in to tell him that it was already 10 years ago and suggested that he ought to try and show up again as we needed new fans.

As a matter of interest "No1" when did you last see the Fleet play? I'm in no way trying to imply that you should see them more often. Unlike the bloke on the 'bus who actually lived in Northfleet, you have a genuine geographical reason for your absence. Even so your 12 quid would still be welcome should you manage to get back at anytime.
