hmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Uncle Urchin

Recommended Posts

started off brightly and had 5 chances in the first 25 minutes...all missed or saved and certainly should have been two up at least....

first attack on our goal on the half hour and one nil down..we never recovered our composure and in fairness to mangos they rode their luck and gained confidence from it...goals 2 and 3 shoddy defending and a poor urchin second half performance from all of the players...

they'll need to do better than that to win this league and compete at a higher level next year but we move on and we'll put it behind us as we always do....a bad day at the office...

well done to the very nice staff and

fans of mango and well done also to their players who were polite and appreciative of the urchin hospitality...

safe journey home...

First Goal was handball by the player when he charged it down, but played the whistle great cross and a good finish.

But hey thats football.

Second and Third as uncle said shots from outside the box.

It was never a penalty, I think the ref felt sorry for us.

oh well.

>>fckn stupid bird

You are being unfair to the heron - the heron was there right from the start - it flew off about twenty mins from the end, heading towards its roost at Allhallows, on the Isle of Grain.

It had no choice as it was getting dark, fireworks were beginning, and it wanted to get home.

The heronry at Allhallows is one of the biggest in the country, and the heron may well bring a friend or two for future matches.

bollox, its roost is at hornchurch country park

i felt the minute their winger went past ronnie fletcher and put that cross in and their centre forward basically headed them in front we was f*cked, coz if they done it once then they could use that again.

Far from me to single out a player, but on todays performance i would rather have had jordan at right back as i felt that ronnie was lacking in pace today, don't get me wrong ronnie made a couple of quality tackles but i thought he got beat too easily for their first goal, and that is the one that killed us,in ryman 1 north i think he is ok but against better opposition i think he was found wanting

We were poor today and i only hope that we can go to harlow next saturday, pick up 3 points and put this title to bed,coz after all that is why we are all here.

saying that i do think we came across a very accomplished team who given half a chance were not going to be mugged off

Passing distribution and pace, we need that in both of our outside defenders. Something I feel we need to improve on at the moment.

I thought Mangos were well worth their win yesterday - I don't think they were in any way lucky.

All their players were comfortable on the ball, most had first class first touch even when receiving long passes - they chased us down when we were in possession in our own third, & they didn't let up or tire - they were up for disputing decisions - even when they were 3 up.

I don't have a problem with goals being scored from outside the box - anyone in red & white fancy doing a Haan & smacking one in from 40 yards - please do it - don't feel embarrassed about it.

Urchins were not at their best, but I think we came up against a better team.

The 2 mango fans near me were more intersted in watching the birds flying above the riverside until they scored.

I thought the 2nd goal came at a bad time for us gave them a lot of confidence and it showed.

Fact is Mangos were from a higher league, a level to which we aspire and therefore set a standard for us to achieve. We cant go out expecting teams to roll over and when you make mistakes, with or without birdlife assistance, you get punished.

But....I do think there's a case in point for our defence posessing a bit more pace a la Bostock.

Still, Saturday awaits and a massive, no MASSIVE game.
