If you want to go to Baghdad, I'm sure it can be arranged.

When I saw the squad we (Harlow) had out yesterday, I didn't expect anytrhing else other than an Enfield win.

We had 6 senior players missing through injury and had 6 players 18 or younger in our 15.

We had a lively first half but some of the youngsters began to struggle in the 2nd half and you took your chance well when it came.

Strange the team looks very simular to the one thats been playing regular check your website stats ,who were the 6 missing players?

Good performance by Enfield Town on Saturday. What pleased me most was the team spirit. First time I have felt we played as a genuine team at home this season. That's two in a row now at home - if we can produce this type of game at home consistently we should be good for at least a play-off place.

Negus made a big difference in front of Magona on the left hand side. His pace gave us genuine options down that flank, with Paul Campbell doing the same on the right. The team looked much better balanced with Negus back. Dave Hunt starting to show good form too. I wasn't sure about him after the first couple of games, but he seems to have found his game lately. And we looked solid at the back.

Didn't realise how long Marc Salmon had been at Harlow - congrats to him. Still a very good player, though thankfully he was quiet against us.

And well done to Brian Hammatt. He gets plenty of stick on here so it's only fair to point out when he has a good game. I can understand why Crace likes playing alongside him up front. Hammatt does a lot of work off the ball - makes intelligent runs freeing up space for others. Took his goal excellently yesterday.

I thought Campbell and Hunt were our quietest and least effective players Saturday.Negus only got into the game in the second half.
Still not 100% convinced that Hammetts header was not originally meant as a header back across goal.

Don't think Allen had a torrid time gainst Harlows No9.In fact the 9 was getting more and more frustraited thoughout the game, as Allen keeped blocking his attemps to attack.Tickner had his best game for us so far.

Thought Harlows little N07 was their best player.Agree that for the first time at home this season we looked like we were beginning to play as a team, and with team spirit.

Agree to an extent about what you're saying, enfield T, although I think Negus did well in the first half, just by making sure we retained the ball by playing out of trouble, rather than just hitting it long. He certainly gives us more balance, just by the fact that he's prepared to hold his position on the touchline, allowing someone like Velandia to exploit the extra space with his range of passing. Campbell was quiet, but we all know what a threat he can be when playing well, so with 2 wide players like that we look like we have much better attacking options.

I thought Hammatt was excellent all game, not only did he take his goal well, as bjr rightly said, he does a lot of leg work up front, closing defenders, drawing players by making runs and holding the ball up. From memory, he also set up an excellent chance that Crace almost got on the end of, which would have sealed the win.

I'd say the biggest positive from Saturday though is the spirit and will to win that we showed. There were some really big performances in important areas, and it was good to see us going in for every tackle and header like we meant it. Let's hope we continue to play like this, as the 11 that played on Saturday (+ a couple of people returning from injury) look like a decent team to me.

Anyone else worried about Jim reverting to a back three again (probably in order to accomadate Matty),after he said last week, that he would play a flat back four?

Also, still not convinced about Gant in midfield.Jim has got his fingers burnt twice this season ,with regard to fielding overly negative formations at home in big games.Luckily he got away with it saturday. I still feel we wasted the first half (as usual).Away sides are happy to play cautiously for the first half hour, and that would be our best chance to really go for it,and put the game beyond reach.

Out of Magona,Tickner,Gant,i would have only played two out of the three and put either Smith,Mackey,or Nyman in midfield.

Just small quibles though, overall i'm getting exited about the rest of the season.A few weeks ago,i was dreading the 'next game'.So we are definately heading in the right direction.

Right... this is what my mates and I were talking about after the game, I'm not convinced that the players are 100% comfortable with a back 3, especially Allen and Tickner, who weren't great positionally early on. I thought Magona looks better as part of a 3 though, and had a good game (as did the other two after a couple of early mistakes which could have lead to goals). If we are going to play this system, you can't ask for two better wing-backs than Campbell and Negus.

I'm not a big fan of playing a center-half in midfield, but I do like Gant as a player and when it gets scrappy, he's more than willing to scrap, which at this level is needed. That said, he doesn't go looking for the ball like Hall / Hunt / Velandia do. So long as those 3 don't go missing if we're backs to the wall, then that'd be my 3. I like Nyman, but would see him more as an impact player playing higher up the pitch and running at people / drawing challenges, as he does this well. Completely agree with you about going at sides, especially at home - most sides in this league will be more than happy with an away point against us, so the onus is on us to make things happen.

At any rate, we could debate this all day long, and to be fair, I reckon the 1-0 scoreline justified Saturday's system.

If you have three central defenders,a holding midfielder is a luxury and a defensive move. With Rudi out,Gant in front of a flat four is understandable, but otherwise we end up with virtually six defenders at times.

If we need a holding midfielder infront of three central defenders, then Hunt could do that job. I would personally go with a flat back four.Ideally with Allen and Campbell down one flank and Bastian and Negus down the other.

Do you know 2/3 others around me said the same thing as the ball hit the net, I thought he took it well, but it did make me think I will have to watch the video when it comes out!

Yes very worried, also dont understand why we play a natural defender in midfield when we had an array of midfielders sitting on the bench.

Oh come on there can be no criticism of Jim and the team after a deserved victory against the top of the table side who had only lost once before this season.

Well done Jim - mind you if we are not in a play off place by christmas or the end of the season you know my view.

No way was Hammatt's goal a fluke. It was a very well directed header. There has been some debate over whether the original cross had gone out. I thought it had but the majority didn't think so and there was no protest from Harlow players. So, all in all a very well taken goal.
