ENFIELD TOWN 1 HARLOW TOWN 0

A good game with neither goalkeeper being over worked, good goal by Bryan, whole team played well, thought Simon Tickner & Matty Negus were the star men, two good halfs at home by the Town for the 1st time this season, well done boys.

Bizarre referee, never got involved with anything any decision he looked to the linesman, little spats between Crace & the Harlow number 7 (Mr Attitude) totally ignored, the number 9 whinging & falling all over the pitch also ignored.

He gave a foul & warned Matty for useing an elbow but no booking.

Have to agree with Gazza first time we have played to halves the same Negus gave us more balance on the left yesterday and Tickner was superb ,I was disappointed with Harlow for a team top of the league they rarely threaten us .Good performance may be at last things are looking up.

Well done Towners, you done us a favour.

Did we really do you a favour? I think you may find that Harlow Town pose less of a threat to AFC Hornchurch this season than Enfield Town. Harlow Town may well lose a couple of their next games too. They still have a few of the higher placed teams to play this side of Christmas.

When I saw the squad we (Harlow) had out yesterday, I didn't expect anytrhing else other than an Enfield win.

We had 6 senior players missing through injury and had 6 players 18 or younger in our 15.

We had a lively first half but some of the youngsters began to struggle in the 2nd half and you took your chance well when it came.

I expect us to lose a few more in the coming weeks until we get something like our first choice XI back.

Still, we welcome Spurs tomorrow for Marc Salmon's testimonial so that should give us a nice distraction for the evening.

cantos,i am not counting chickens, and i didn't go to the opening game of the season but i heard these towners are no mugs.I fully expect them to be up there challenging at the end of the season with bury, enfield, harlow sudbury.i don't expect next saturday to be easy,we will have to fight to get out of this league, think anything else and we will be doomed!!

I dont think Bury will be top 4 - Look out for Aveley, Wivenhoe and Arsley. As for the excuse that Harlow had 6 senior players missing. Any team can only beat the players they are facing and, it seems to me that Harlow's squad have no strength in depth.

I was disappointed in their tactics. Long ball has nothing in it as this was their sole game plan. The way the back 4 played the offside trap it is clear that they have played together a long time. I thought that the number 9 had a good game and Dave Allen had a torrid afternoon against him. Was disappointed in the performance of Marc Salmon as, from his goal scoring prowess this year, was expecting to see more of him. It is as I thought Harlow aren in a false position in the league as they had not really played anyone and they will drift down the table. They were no better than Waltham Abbey when we played them second game of the season.

so were not sacking jim this week then or sending bryan hammat to baghdad.

harlow were a bit one dimensional against us, knock it about and if in doubt belt it up front somewhere and hopefully MS will get it. they did have the fortune to be gifted two goals by us, free header and a suicide backpass..

their game appears to be if we score hang on tight.

good win though well done.

Good performance by Enfield Town on Saturday. What pleased me most was the team spirit. First time I have felt we played as a genuine team at home this season. That's two in a row now at home - if we can produce this type of game at home consistently we should be good for at least a play-off place.

Negus made a big difference in front of Magona on the left hand side. His pace gave us genuine options down that flank, with Paul Campbell doing the same on the right. The team looked much better balanced with Negus back. Dave Hunt starting to show good form too. I wasn't sure about him after the first couple of games, but he seems to have found his game lately. And we looked solid at the back.

Didn't realise how long Marc Salmon had been at Harlow - congrats to him. Still a very good player, though thankfully he was quiet against us.

And well done to Brian Hammatt. He gets plenty of stick on here so it's only fair to point out when he has a good game. I can understand why Crace likes playing alongside him up front. Hammatt does a lot of work off the ball - makes intelligent runs freeing up space for others. Took his goal excellently yesterday.
