Mystery brother on loan to Saints?

Recommended Posts

Are you sure that DT didn't just say a 'bro.'? You see if Damian 'Damo' 'Batty' Batt or I for that matter, came up and said "we're signing a bro. on loan, a striker from another Conference Nationale club", it wouldn't necessarily mean that the person has the same mother and father as Damian. Or me, as the case may be.

It could be a bit tricky for the Media & Telecommunications Executive at the club if it is, indeed a brother of one of t'lads. With the nickname thingy, I mean. Another 'Hakkers'? Another 'Clarkie'? Another 'Bazza'? Another 'Jack'? It will be O.K. if it's Matt 'Matty' Hann's brother, of course. Providing his name's not Nathaniel. (That's enough nicknames - Ed.)

'Shaunee'?

'One young man who I expect to force his way into the side is Shaun Batt. This former young Stevenege Borough striker, was picked up on John Still’s radar last season and then loaned out for a spell at East Thurrock United. A tall, square shouldered lad, he can look a bit awkward at times, but seems able to handle himself and certainly has an eye for goal.'

Eh?

So is it pronounced Shaun like sheep- [after shearing] or Shuan like .... err.. ummn.. er... szechuan [without the sze]?

Nothing changes in the Information Superhighway that is the advertising boards on Hatfield Road and the Official web-site, eh Webbo? How's Richard Goddard, by the way?

For Heaven's sake, JKiF!

Let me tell you how it works. We take a player on loan from the Daggers and he plays on Saturday. John Still comes on here on Monday morning to see how t'lad impressed the knowledgable fans of The Mighty Saints. "A pulsating performance from Shawn "Batty" Batt throughout". "Silky skills on show from start to finish". Breathtaking pace". "Should have had a hat-trick if there was any justice". "Amazed that The Mighty Daggers have let this gem slip through their net".

Are you getting the picture, JKiF?

John "Stillsy" Still then says to himself "Hmmnnn. Sounds like a lot of positives, there. We'd better get t'lad back, to be fair, at the end of the day, second half. We'll offer a swap for Craig Mackail-Smith. It was always perfectly obvious that he'll never score goals in the Ryman Premier League."
