Could this be where we are going?

According to the another site, they have Edgware down as moving to the Southern league, before they had us in the Isthmian div 1 north.

I guess it's not beyond reason, as Hillingdon / Hanwell/ Brook House are all there and all from Middx like ourselves. I would rather be in the Isthmian 1 north though.

Does the club have to apply for each league it wants to move up to, or is just moved by the league themselves?

Yikes, it looks a hard divison, some of those clubs I have no idea where they are!

Compare that with this...

AFC Hornchurch

AFC Sudbury

Aveley

Brentwood Town

Bury Town

Canvey Island

Cheshunt

Enfield

Great Wakering Rovers

Hendon

Ilford

Maldon Town

Potters Bar Town

Redbridge

Tilbury

Waltham Abbey

Waltham Forest

Ware

Wingate & Finchley

Witham Town

Wivenhoe Town

Wroxham

Looks like teams are switching from ryamn to southern and vice versa. What do you think is the harder divison based on that line up?

I guess its all if and but's it makes interesting reading though

No harm in dreaming but it is still October. A lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

I just realized that the southern league would be if they make a 6th league at step 4, otherwise it would be the Isthmian 1 north. If there were to be 6 divisions with 22 teams at step 4, then a further 20 teams would be required. This could be achieved as follows.

No relegation from step 4 (giving a further 10 teams)

One team from each of the 14 step 5 leagues (giving a further 4 teams)

2 further teams from each of the 3 northernmost step 5 leagues. i.e. NL, NWC & NCE (giving a further 6 teams)

I agree, but Lato, I am not dreaming nor is anyone else at Edgware. We have our best side in years, and promotion now has to be a our main objective, that and the FA Vase <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Gav, It's a long way off yet a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.
If your players keep performing they will attract interest from clubs at a higher level and unfortunately money talks in football.

If they want them they will have to come up with the cash, contracts talk as well.

I doubt very much anyone at Edgware would want to leave, why would they?. It's not just the team that are playing well, winning games and getting results, its the TEAM SPIRIT, which is just incredible. Why would a player want to leave and play for eg for Hendon, a club going nowhere, but down, even if they were playing two steps higher.

It all comes from the management team, Steve & Del, and as I said, I serioulsy doubt any player would even consider a move, unless it was to a pro club.

Gav
This is in the Rhodes leagues of quotes
Don't delude yourself that Edgware are the be all and end all, your just a small club from step 5 doing well at the moment, if any big wants one of your players they will offer them better money, facilites and the chance to better themselves by playing at a higher level.

LOL, I am sure players would much rather be somewhere they are happy then at a higher level where they may not get a game every week and they wont enjoy that team spirit.

I agree clubs could tempt them, but I would hope they would want to acheive something with us, I am sure they will.

We sold Brian Stein to Luton, Dave Beasent to Wimbledon, Scott Mc Gleish is at Northampton, and Leon Constantine went to Millwall, but he is now doing well at Port Vale.

I think the only clubs the current players would move to are those in the football league.

If you stay put cos you think you might not get a game then you are not good enough

....

First team footbal is always more attractive then just sitting on the bench, IMO
