Whereas I would never criticsise anyone trying to raise cash for their club, didn't some "local" club raise over £2,000...?

And they say this "local" club isn't well supported...One has to look at the Chelmo target and wonder if this is a "true" reflection of their "true" support...

I see the Chelmer chappies are having a moan up again after their win over G&N (congratulations on that btw, it was a very good win.) it seems the win wasn't enough, they want more.

They’re having a proper moan (well some of them anyway) that the CCFC news coverage isn't/wasn’t big enough. Not only that, they don't like that Bromley are getting news coverage and have a player nominated as player of the round (well done to Bromley as well, another good win).

Surely they should be basking in glory at the moment, ...1st round proper, Home draw, a winnable tie, why can't they just enjoy...or is it me that has it wrong?

Yes, a commendable win and congratulations. I have seen a thread on their messageboard about whether to be all ticket or not. Maybe they would like to pop over here and ask for some stories of Aldershot fans! They can even ask The Daggers if they like. Think they were the last (that did make the papers) this season to come across them. Of course we were well prepared as we had to play them every year for quite a while. But if you are not..... Lets just say a very passionate bunch. Oh, and if a replay is required, watch out for the park and the snipers on the terraces. All the best lads.

And before the game, go in the Crimea pub and spread a little of that Chelmo "love" and "hail fellow, well met" attitude....

Should make this a do's and don'ts thread - Do NOT attempt to walk down the road wearing colours, or even just a little thing such as sensibly waiting on the coach.

DO make sure you take a money bag with you, may not be much but could make the difference between the morning copy of the Sun or not.

Never forget the time when we were in the crown one season about midday. Their advance party turned up, all blokes of our age group. They kind of knew to stick to their part of the pub as there seemed to be this mutual respect after what had gone before. Anyway, the advance party of their youth came in next. Stood next to us just staring intensely in faces. Was funny to see these jumped up 18 yr olds literally itching for something to happen, (heck they could of waited for the rugby to have finished on the tv first). Anyway it was even funnier when one who was by now so pumped up he was sipping insesently into his beer realised he had no money to get another pint or he would not be able to gain entry into the ground had to ask their older chaps for a beer and they totally rebuked him. Not sure who was more embarrased their older lads or the younger group. Anyway, I think it was the older ones as they apologised about the behaviour and left. And these were the same guys that had been involved in shall we say a mini disagreement about where to stand on the terraces at the rec couple of seasons earlier.

and in the area of fairness, did I not praise your attempts, and suggest they asked you as too how successful it was?

Never said that. Only bantered over numbers. I think and would argue our 'true' support is greater in numbers then yours. The figures speak for themselves.........However, subject to banter, not abuse!

Well, there are figures and "figures"...

So you would say that £500 is a reasonable target for this "huge" support considering that our (supposed) lowley support can raise so much more? The thing that you guys appear not to be able to do is lateral thinking...support comes in many different shapes, sizes and forms...

...perhaps you should consider that before you quote figures and the size of your club...

Oh and where did I say I was quoting you...I believe it was "Big Daddy" that was trying to get the rise... Pity the guy can't come over here and banter...i
