Speaking as probably the only Macclesfield Town supporter in Hornchurch (or indeed anywhere south of Watford) I'm not too unhappy about it being televised. I think the last time I saw Macclesfield on't telly was when they got knocked out of the FA cup a few years back by the 'ammers.

fair enough if you are a macclesfield fan(or man utd) coz they want to watch their team or man utd ex players.But would they be showing macclesfield if incey wasn't there,answer is a resounding no!

it is in all honesty one of the less glamorous games of the round.but at least the macclesfield,walsall and man utd fans will be happy,and thats what is important really,keeping man utd fans happy!

personally i think the 1st round of the cup os for the non league sides and it is poor show that only one will get money from appearing live on tele,and guess what they are a club with an average gate of around 2000 who have someone from the media connected to them.

what about the non league sides who need the money

Agreed Sparkesy. Bromley are really looking good for promotion under Mr Goldberg, drawing in a decent support. I'd be pretty worried if I were playing for the Gills......mainly because I have a dodgy left knee and cant run as well as I used to.
