Berkhamsted v Hertford tomorrow night is OFF

Recommended Posts

Because of floodlight problems at Berkhamsted, we are off tomorrow night. We have offered to switch the tie to Hertford, but it seems unlikely that this offer will be accepted. Does anyone know of a precedent where two consecutive midweek ties have been lost to floodlight problems at two different clubs? (our game last week at Biggleswade Town was similarly postponed). No-one wants to play us LOL

I meant because they're scared of us! Did I go over the top about losing to our good friends from Edgware then Kroons?

Personally, I'm hoping Hertford win. We had a very, how should I put this, tense match at Berkhamsted last season in what was, at the time, a relegation six-pointer. We won it 3-2 with a last minute 'offside' goal on a hot-tempered day both on and off the pitch. I have no doubt we could beat them again, probably more comfortably with the pressure off, but it's just a bit too close to the last game for my liking.
There was quite a lot of banter about this game earlier in the season on another thread, I gather the winners meet Potters Bar Town at home but I believe there is still a lynching party waiting for Potters Bar Town (the bloke on here) at Hetingfordbury Park so doubt he will dare to attend if Hertford eventually go through.

I was disappointed in you Horace. A man of impeccable behaviour dragged down to using capital letters. I shook my head at that.

Never mind You did play well, but I think you will find the game lasts for 90 mins not 75 though.

Rhodes, I have absolutely no intention of missing the game regardless of who goes through or who is there.

Should it happen, you will receive the time honoured HTFC hospitality PBT! We don't normally do custard creams, but might on such an occasion.

I beleive there were custard creams on offer when you hosted us Horace, or at least one as Manorborn says there was but he ate it.

There you go! We recently went "upmarket" at the request of our vice-chairman, who's used to better than we were getting in for him (and our visitors if they could get near)
