Hendon v Kentish Town - Thursday 2 November

Recommended Posts

Two hours and 45 minutes to go and counting, it's a shame my knowledge doesn't extend to setting up one of those fancy timers. Do come along in person if you can and introduce yourself, for those who don't know me I'm a tall guy and will be wearing a suit as I'm going straight from work.

I'm afraid not, you thought you did didn't you! One and a half hours to countdown, I'm just on my way so catch you all later on. Gavin - See if you can make it down even if it's just for the second half, don't forget my tenner.

Tonights Result:Hendon 2 V Kentish Town 3, with both clubs fielding more or less full strengh sides (well Hendon did).

BE LUCKY <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Not taking anything away from KTFC nor making excuses, but although Hendon did field a strong side, it also had some trialists so I wouldn't call it full strength.

I predict a 3-2 type game as the Hendon fringe players won't be as up for it as the minnows raising their game!
Phoinex - You beat me to it, were you there. Fair play to NeutralFan who was spot on with the score, it'll be interesting to see what holes the likes of Lato, Horace and Potters Bar Town try to pick in us beating a full strength Ryman Premier Division team who were giving it their all.

Firstly Rhodes, as you can see from the above quote, Rak has already posted before you that it WASN'T a full strength Hendon side so you have been caught out lying again. On that basis, there is no reason to believe they were "giving it their all" either.

Secondly, it was only a friendly. Potters Bar have also beaten Hendon in a friendly this season. It's nothing to get excited about.

Rak - I believe Kentish also played some reserve players and trailists, more so in the second half, but it was their first half display that you have to admit was outstanding and Hendon struggled to deal with their play.

Potters Bar Town - Yes but you're a Step 4 Club, we're Step 6, there's a World of difference and for us to go to Hendon, 3 Steps above us, and win convincingly, rates as the result of the season so far even if it was only a friendly. Hendon had about 25 players at their disposal and did a Sven at half time, they just had no answer to our Brazil '70 style which was particularly evident tonight.

Potters Bar Town - I think the Kentish Town Players should be given more credit for their performance tonight than your comment suggest.

Rhodes - Yes I was at the game tonight and I was Impressed with your teams performance,I can see why your at the top of your division.Do you think it was wise to play this match so close to your next league game, as a couple of your players seemed to pick up a few knocks.

I wont get involved in an argument about the game. Well Done to KTFC, if you came to watch (who-ever you are?) you will probably know that I have a lot of friends who play for Kentish Town and wish them all the best.

However just for the record, both teams played many first team players during the match, but both also used trialists/reserves throughout the match as well, with some players rolling on and off.

I wouldn't go overboard, you're performance was good but I certainly wouldn't say we couldn't deal with the Kentish Town play, it wasn't THAT good. As a team we were poor, anyway, well done I hope you go on to get promotion!

Without mentioning names I would say there is one player in particular I would like to see join us from KTFC!

Potters Bar Town - Whilst you were in the lap of luxury at White Hart Lane having no doubt been given a complimentary ticket, as I doubt you would have paid £40 for one, Phoinex and me were freezing our whatsits off at Hendon and Rak was playing, very well might I add, in other words you weren't even there. We were always going to make the most of the kind offer by Hendon to play a Step 3 Club and grabbed the opportunity with both hands, there were times when a neutral such as Phoinex would not have had a clue who the Step 3 team was.
