Hendon v Kentish Town - Thursday 2 November

Recommended Posts

Massive news folks, Hendon have offered us a friendly on Thursday evening, kick off 7.00, on the hallowed Claremont Road turf and we have readily accepted, everyone is welcome including Potters Bar Town. This promises to be even bigger than the legendary Hertford Town v Kentish Town friendly in August if that's possible and we obviously fancy our chances against a Ryman League Premier Division Club, we may even give Baron 'the Baron' Charlery a run out! More later!

Shame its Thursday night, I dont finnish work till 7, so would miss the first half. If it had of been tomorrow night I would have popped down.

I think they need the practice then you, as they only just won their first game of the season on Saturday. If you beat them that will really crush their confidence, a step 6 team beating a step 3 team.

If its a friendly wont they just put their 'fringe' players out??

Do they have a lot of players with fringes?

Will they do a nice spread for Rhodes, do you think?

Cucumber sandwiches and chocolate biscuits?

Let's be honest about this game. Hendon have a new caretaker manager who wants to look at a few of the players he's got and possibly some triallists and wants to try out some various tactics and formations. Isn't particularly bothered about who the opposition is so might as well play the minnow groundsharers. No-one at Hendon is going to be bothered about the result, although I can think of one person on this forum who will be deluded enough to be either near-suicidal or ridiculously hyperbolic depending on the outcome.

Paula - Hendon won't want to lose face against our 'average' players will they. I was told by their Secretary, who I fixed the game up with today, following negotiations of Maastricht treaty proportions, that it will be their strongest team.

I think Hendon will probably put out a relatively strong team.

Reasons are that we have no game Saturday, this mid-week or next mid-week.

We have a very small squad with no reserve team and not many trialists.

Players will need a game to keep them ticking over, especially considering there wil be no training Thursday as there is a friendly match.

I would guess most players would get 45 minutes.

All this is just guess work though so don't quote me

Rak - It promises to be a classic, you'll be pitting your wits against Thomas Looney, Tommy Kanaris, Tom McMullen and Terry O'Leary (TJ), how do you feel about that.

Very excited. Will Lee Scott play?

Is TJ the same TJ who used to play for my U14s (I think) at Market Road?

Did you know I played 2 games for Kentish Town about 2 years ago and scored 2 goals

Should be an enjoyable evening, I've been wanting to see a Kentish Town game for a while but haven't had the chance, now i can

Rak - Of course Lee will play, he's on fire at the moment, did you know he lives almost next door to Coles Park but wouldn't join Haringey in a million years. Yes it is the same TJ and he thinks very highly of you, he is also playing really well for us at the moment but got injured on Saturday so may be a doubt on Thursday. Yes I knew you played for Kentish Town under Julian and Fernando, Fernando should be there on Thursday as I'm trying to persuade him to join our Coaching staff. Why didn't you sign up for us instead of Ruislip by the way, if you want to de-register now Julian has left you could be playing up front alongside Lee who will appreciate the great way you hold the ball up Ray Kennedy style.

I really hope one of the Ruislip boys raises this with their committee and that Kentish Town are charged with making an illegal approach. That is clearly what this statement blatantly is. I'd love to see you trying to explain to the FA that it was only a bit of banter on a website forum. Maybe the heavy fine that would follow may finally persuade you to think about what you say on here?

LoL PBT.

Rhodes I will not talk to any club untill a 7 day approach has been made!

So no comment.

(Am I legally ok now?)
