That is the funniest thing I've ever heard.

 

I don't think they'll go and I hope they don't. Changing the manager mid season is the worst thing that can happen.

 

Swindon would only have to pay peanuts as both Daish and Kimble's contracts run out in the summer.

 

Theres a saying in there somewhere.

IF they were approached, would they go? I think Daish would feel very harsh on the club that took him from lower League management to the helm of a club, who at the moment, are the 4th best non-League team in the country. And to be fair, despite this brilliant start, there have only been seventeen games so far, not even half of a season, so wouldn't Swindom be jumping to conclusions to take them both on so soon in the season?

As they're under contract, they'd have to pay whatever the club say or get lost.

Unless there's a clause in Liam's contract?

When Daish came in he got rid of most the squad and I think that's why a lot of people didn't like Daish and what he was doing, but that's understandably just from building up attachments to the players. But when the team doesn't cut it, you need new players, and you can't ignore the current squad and being in 4th place. Daish needed his own squad, not Andy Ford's leftovers.

I think a hell of a lot of people jumped to conclusions that because they hadn't heard of him and he wasn't being touted about like the Garry Hills and Chris Kinnears, and because Welling went for Ade Pennock instead, that he was bound to be crap.

 

There were several people who had the knives out even before he started releasing Andy Ford's squad.

What we got was a change of personnel AND tactics.

I was talking from a contractual point of view.

However to answer your question - last season I would have gladly seen him sacked.
The football was awful. However, myself and others were clearly wrong - just as well really - but nobody could fortell this season's efforts in the league.

You, however, had the benefit of hindsight to post that comment.

A random quote in one paper. Are there many clubs that would issue a statement immediately? Together with your request for an official apology after Saturday's performance (which I was as angry about as you), I do think sometimes people expect too much from clubs. How many boards apologise for one defeat, however poor, when otherwise things are reasonably rosy?
