So RR is in favour of big portly gentleman in goal as opposed to fit, young, agile keepers?! Hhhhhmmmmm

While I cannot disagree that both Pullen and Wilko on their day were very good - have to say that Cronin/Holloway and hopefully Mott are consistently 'on their day' more often!! I prefer the new breed of keeper!

To be honest none of these guys are up to the standard of Pullen or even Wilko. Both those guys dominated their areas and had the build of a proper keeper.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you watching the same games as i have???? Wilko missed kicks ,passed it to on coming forwards, flapped at crosses etc from time to time he was ok as a shot stopper but other than that he was abysmal. I have only seen Mott play once and that was saturday, other than kicking into touch a few times I thought he done well.bet his nerves were really jangling

If this is a wind up you got me hook line and sinker

These current guys are all too young, too small and too inexperienced for Conference football

Cronin is lucky that in most games hes been protected by three strong centre halves in front of him

Yes I remember thinking when he made that cracking save against Woking and the point blank save against Dagenham how lucky it was that he had three strong centre halves to pat him on the back.

As much as I liked Wilko, I would rate the keepers that we have had between the sticks last season, and currently, more highly than I would Wilko, and even higher than James Pullen.

Lance is a great shot stopper, not afraid to come out and make himself big to block a shot. Some of the saves that he's made this season have been outstanding. As for Sam, he put in a respectable performance at Chelmsford, and kept us in the game to a certain extent.

RR, I don't know what you have been watching when you make your comments about keepers, but it certainly can't have been Lance.! Also, where on earth do you get too inexperienced from? Lance has been at Palace, Shrewsbury, Wycombe and Oldham, and he's only 21!

I have to say Mott's performance wasn't the only positive, nor was he the only player who played well. When Stacey Long came on we had some zip and urgency which we lacked before his introduction. He actually attempted some through-balls (shock-horror) and generally attempted to lift the team out of their sticky mess. Had the other players had his determination, a different result would have surely occured.

He had his flaws, but surely that's an overly harsh analysis of a 'keeper who played such a vital role in helping us stay up in 2002/2003?

I am afraid thats how I felt about the guy, I never felt safe when he was in goal, He would take his eye off a moving ball when trying to kick it, and would miss it ,slice it ,or pass it to a oncoming forward. I believe even though he was a big guy, I think he was worried about getting hurt, and watch the player rather than the ball. When he had no time to think his shot stopping could be really good.
