Ruislip Manor 6 Royston Town 1

Recommended Posts

Royston were not good defensively though the young keeper made some top saves in the second half. He might have been at fault for the first as he misjudged 'The Sway's' header but after that he was left somewhat exposed by his defence. To be fair to Royston they kept trying to attack but while they had a half decent forward line the defence had little other than robust challenges to cope with our attack. Sway converted his ninth spot kick of the season and then complete his hat trick before Royston pulled one back. Anthony Page scored a neat goal after some great interplay with the Sway so 4-1 at HT. Second half was really how many we could add as Royston got a little more physical. Sway got his fourth after great work by McLeish-White before the last minute spectacular diving header own goal.

For all those interested the great Tommy Lambourne played the whole game and got a yellow card but looked solid. Uduma Kalu and Arthur Barker had second half cameo's as substitutes and it was from Kalu's cross that defender Ravel scored his corking own goal.

Thanks for that Lato as I for one am very interested, I can't believe the great Arthur Barker was on the bench, if that continues I think you'll find he won't be at Grosvenor Vale for very much longer.

LATO - I am very happy that you see Tommy Lambourne as a solid player, as he is a good player no doubt about that! Do you see the other Two Ex-haringay players featuring much on a Regular basis....And how is the team Post Julian Hudson??

3praise - I think Lato has already made his feelings known on Uduma Kalu and Arthur Barker, as for Julian he was always very non committal about him even when he was pulling up trees in an impressive unbeaten spell shortly before he was shown the door. His departure is still shrouded in mystery.

I do believe from a few whispers i have heard that Julian lost his Job because one week when the manager wasnt there he played a team consisting of Uduma and Arthur, when the Manager had catagorically told him not to - a sackable offernce??

Once again someone doesn't agree with your warped view of things is judged to be in the wrong. I and the rest of the Manor suporters haven't really seen enough of Arthur Barker to judge him though he scored a vital winner. Kalu we have seen a bit more of and he has some ability but in my opinion there are two players in his position who are better than him at the club. His chances may therefore be limited though I don't pick the team or had you forgotten that??

As for Julian well from little I know I understand that there was a difference od opinion between the manager and him over certain footballing related matters. I don't know the full story nor to be honest do I wish to. A decision has been made and Julian has left the club although I wish him well for the future as I think he is a good guy.

As for him pulling up trees in an unbeaten run well he was just a small part of a team success. Unlike you Rhodes and your at times embarassing championing of Clement Temile which to me just stinks of smug self publicity, I don't look at indivisduals but the unit as a whole.
