Ten wins on the spin Edgware go back to where they belong....TOP!

Recommended Posts

Edgware beat Hertford Town for the second time this season putting another three goals past them. As I predicted the game was a lot closer, and the final 3-2 scoreline was just about right. Edgware were not really at their best in the first half, and fair play to Hertford who shaded the half, and led by an excellent goal.

Second half was a different story as Edgware got the ball down on the floor more and began edging their way back into the match.

Richard Morton put the game all level with a well taken strike, and the game was pretty even. Hertford won a penalty which they dispatched to regain the lead.

However Edgware have come good late in lots of games this season and they would come good again, a goal mouth scramble ended up with Marc Buchanan giving drawing the scores level. Just when it looked like a point a piece would be the final result, Hertford gave away a penalty and Ricahrd Morton made no mistake from the spot to give Edgware the three points and send the 'wares' back to the top of the table.

All in all a good game, specially the second half, Hertford looked much better then the vase game, and will be up there come the end of the season, but if there is a more fit team then Edgware I am yet to see them.

Because they're all still PIG SICK (supporters and players). We outplayed you for the first hour, had the game won twice and managed to LOSE! They don't give a stuff about pictures of our players, they are hurting big time!

OUR no. 3 - silly place to put a comment to Rhodes LOL. He only reads threads that mention Paula or Haringey Borough!

It's Michael Bakare, going straight in to our side afer transferring form HARINGEY BOROUGH (that might attract Rhodes). I know it's hard to believe but he was good in the 9-0 game, and I thought he looked very composed and capable on Saturday, despite not knowing his team-mates and despite it being against the best team in the league.

Horace - I don't really know Michael Bakare that well and haven't seen him play much, he's not one of 'my greats' in the Glenn Shurety, Tommy Lambourne, Uduma Kalu and Arthur Barker category so don't worry I won't be starting a new thread. Did I tell you that Halil Akil is another 'great' and I may be starting a new thread on him soon, I take it he's still with you at Hertford.

He seems to have disappeared off the scene - the new manager has never seen him play, and has signed a couple of new central defenders, so "H" may have moved on.

We were all gutted 06! Wasn't Joel's fault, first goal came from Virg's miskicking a clearance, second from a corner that was a goalkick, and third from a classic Draper "haymaker" in the box. To be fair to Glenn, he had been collossal up to that point, and was perhaps tired. Edgware looked that bit fitter and were still motoring at the end, when we were just a bit short of steam.

No you can't borrow Coops orRedford!

You are right Horace, as I said, if there is a fitter side in the whole of the Spartan league I have yet to see them. I think we also benfit from having a large squad this season, with players who can come in and do as good a job as those they replace. On Saturday we were without our captain centre back Rory Smith, our striker Stuart Blackburne, and midfielder Ben Hayden.

Our current run has sen us get wins whilst having up to five first team regualrs out. It's all about the squad though and having the numbers and we are lucky that we can draw from the reserve side that was re installed this season.

Those players who have come in wont relinquish their places without a fight, for eg Gavin Hart signed from Northwood is doing an excellent job, and will make it hard for Ben Hayden to come back. Phil Kane is keeping Vince Rispoli on the bench, it's a great situation to be in, and I am sure gives the managers pleasent headaches.

Still tough to maintain such high standards throughout the season though, Gavin. Although you were good, we were too, and we had two debutants and another guy playing only his second game for us. We will get better.

At what point did you think that you were going to get three points? Noticed that you were very quiet in most of the first half LOL

Yes I thought we were poor in the first half and that you deserved to go in at the break in the lead. A very well taken goal and you had a few other chances. Plenty of times this season Edgware have only come good in one half, usually the second, and this is what happened, although we did change it a little with the two subs we made.

I thought if I was being honest that it would be a draw, at 1-2 down, I thought you may go on and win it, but as I said we are very fit and you seemed to tire at the end.

As you know I was not quiet in the second half, also if you remember when you scored your first we made a lot of noise to get behind our team.

Did you like the noise horace?

gavin that kane kid is much better then vince rispoli anyway!! that vince is crap, could never could in hertfords youth or first team!!

.....
Vince Rispoli is an excellent player, he plays in the left wing back posistion and gets forward and defends well. I noticed the Hertford fans sang hertford reject, soon after that he made a great run into the Hertford box, and he also supplied the corner from which we scored!

Phil Kane is an excellnt player and very exciting to watch, he is prob not as good at getting back as Vince, but is better at getting forward.

All in all we have a very exciting team, and many of the older fans say its the best group of players we have had in YEARS!
