<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Second week running

Losing Bastock just glossed over the fact that we weren't very good.

Why wasn't Perks on the subs bench?

Despite lots of possession we were just not getting shots in on goal. I'm afraid that young Benyon is not the answer. Hakim needs better support up front and the midfield need to put better ball into the penalty area.

Walshie is still overweight and I personally do not think he will cut it in the Conference. Maybe we missed Batt and NIcholas today.

Always try to end a on positive note but it's getting harder. Suppose it's fair say that the defence with Elphick playing looks relatively solid.

Elphick and Theobald were superb today, albeit against a fairly toothless attack. They protected Clarkey brilliantly for most of the match, barely allowing a shot on goal from Yeading. Don't agree about Benyon, I thought he did ok.

I find it amazing that their forward tries to stop Bastock throwing the ball out by putting his arm in the way and when Bastock pushes him away, gets a red card (without even consulting his assistant) and the Yeading player goes totally unpunished. Can someone enlighten me please? It totally wrecked the game. I have to say the referee was the poorest I have seen in ages, he made so many incorrect decisions against both sides, his performance was nothing short of laughable. And what was all the fracas on the pitch after the end of the game all about?

Bastock raised his hand & got a red - difficult to defend him but if he was obstructed why was it a penalty & not a free kick to us.

Why again was Perks not on the sub bench? Was Nick Roddis ever going to appear as a sub - I doubt it. Poor decision by Lippy.

Despite dominating a game against one of the poorest & most cynical opponents ever seen we were toothless. Our penalty was very soft!

How come their no 4 committed 2 red card offences - stamping on Elphick & conceding a penalty when he was the last man & still stayed on the field? The fracas at the end appeared to be his fault as well - winding everyone up. Just about the most unpleasant guy imaginable.I really hope we can stay up; I never want to go to that place again.

Ricky Perks was injured in the warm up that's why he didn't come on.

Their No4 didn't get a straight red for the penalty decision because another player was crossing over at the time of the foul.

And Cracknell also came on-can't remember who for though !

Gutted! Imagine what we could have earnt from a trip to Forest.

I hope we stay up to as Yeading is one of the worse places I've ever been to!

Im normally positive but Benyon didnt seem to have it in him yesterday and we need so much more upfront. Can someone please clarify why Clarke is being kept away from the front line unlike last season? Im confused. We were lacking all over the pitch and it seems the players didnt realise this until it was too late. Why so we never learn?!

As far as i can see Clarke is being kept away from the front line because he plays too deep and leaves hakim isolated up front. Last season clarke tended to play with simon who held the ball up and allowed clarke and the midfielders to join the play, but holding the ball up obviously isn't what hakim is good at so clarke doesn't get forward enough. Disagree about benyon though, thought he played ok yesterday and is the type of in your face player that defenders hate, as shown against york.

Presumably the HSC doesn't count so if it was violent conduct he has four games to prove he's good enough.

I'm told it does count. As for violent conduct, the guy earlier had it right, when he used the term 'handbags'. The real violent conduct on the day was dished out by their No 4 and No 5. They were a disgrace and both should have been sent off before half time.
