All a bit irrelevant. Bottom line is that at the moment 'we' are not even good enough to beat a midtable managerless Conference South side. Things need to improve quickly. Otherwise today may have been an indicator of what to expect next year!

With five substitutes listed, it's baffling as to why a sub keeper wasn't on the bench in such an important game.

Exactly, now we have to added pressure of a rookie keeper for 3 games because I believe that Bastock was sent off for violent conduct....

 

Only one positive can come out this game and that's the players looked around at Yeading and thought that there is no way they want to be playing back at that level....

To be honest I think it's almost inevatible that we'll be back in the conf South next year regardless of what we did with the squad in view of what resoruces we have available to us.

 

Maybe that's a defeatest view but I think maybe just an honest one...I hope I am proved wrong again though.

Maybe, maybe not .. the key is to turn some of the performences, Grays aside, into points, if we do that then I do genuinally feel we'll be alright!

 

Of couse if we stay in the conference then, once again, we'll be only 1 game away from the compertition proper rather than trudging through 3 qualifing rounds!!!

Thanks for your reasoned comment. I just didn't want to state the obvious after the otherwise which is where your own defeatest view already has 'us'. Like EFM I'm not quite there yet. Let's stop finding excuses and start turning reasonable performances into points.

If you mean Bastock, he whacked one of theirs round the head right in front of the ref. Not a serious foul but the ref had no option really. Bit stupid if you ask me.

They had two sent off late on for second yellows but it didn't matter by then.

There is no need to panic yet about going down, just a couple of points away from safety. There are though very worrying signs. Take out the game against York and we are on a terrible run and the team just don't look strong, expereinced or organised enough. There is no reason for us to be worse than Northwich, Southport, Altrincham, Gravesend and so forth so time for change is still at hand

It seems likely that more money will be coming into the league next year and it would be good to still be there then. Really we need to be running a reserve side at this level for CL to be trying out new players before bunging them in the squad. It can't give the club a good reputation with players to have them keep coming and going.

It seems to be that the players, directors, manager and selected fans should have a discussion session together to really think about it all so a serious plan of action is made from now to the end of the season as clearly something has to addressed and preferably speedily quickly. Unfortunately two good seasons in the past does not guarantee a good one this time
