Lets take stock of the situation you say,ok, we are rubbish as a football team at the moment, talking about unfit players is a red herring, those that took part today should at least be up to stopping a 6-0 hammering. To me there is just no heart or fighting spirit in the club, and no one giving a clear direction forward.

There was plenty of heart and fighting spirit against both Staines and Billericay - the difference between those matches and the Wood game was that today there were just too many key players missing and we played 75 minutes of the match a man down against the form team in the Premier. On paper I agree the result looks bad but I don't doubt that the players tried their hardest today

With only ten men for about 75 minutes of the match though? That's tough, especially with the side we put out. Most teams at this level would struggle if seven key players were out. Boreham Wood are bang in form too. I might be inclined to agree about the 'no clear direction forward' point, but that's been a problem at this club for years and years.

I think our first team would have been done today so with the patched up team 6-0 is as expected, thought Wilko and Dell had decent games, Their Pen was a dive, but fair enough they trounced us,

But what really shocked me was we lost 6-0 and we were the fans clapping off the team whilst theres just sodded off.

yes i agree they did try there hardest.

If you look at the team today,

Drake - injured

Dell - injured

Lovegrove - sent off after 15

Daly - Getting on now and you can tell hes finding hard keeping up with it.

Leach - seems to be ok

Bartely - seems to be ok ( but didnt get in to starting 11 before the injuries etc)

Moleski - ok

wilko - injured

miller - chases everything down but didnt seem to threaten.

and then 3 polish people who might of not played at this level before so its new to them.

and for them to try there hardest and do all they can well done to them.

The players that played gave their all, most still playing with injuries, and Drake playing in goal after having the Flu all week (as well as his knee).

To me that is called team spirit, fighting spirit, and commitment to the club. Especially with everything that is (not) happening off the field. As said above, how many teams lose 6-0 and get applauded off the pitch.

IMO I thought that Matt and Leigh were joint MOM. Matt for his tiredless running up front, and Leigh for some good takles in defence.

After the game, the first word all the players said when we spoke to them was "sorry", even after we said that we fully expected to lose this one.

Lets hope they have a good two week break, especially those with the short term injuries.

Were you and I watching the same game? I'd have put Marc Leach ahead of Leigh Mason on that list as I thought he came in with some good tackles and didn't bottle out of them all the time.
