The Spartan South Midlands league have never had so much exposure

Recommended Posts

Whether you think its good or bad, this exposure is excellent for the league. No one has ever really heard of Edgware / Harefield or the Spartan South Midlands league, but now they HAVE

Steve Newing our manager came across very well as did Stuart Levy the manager of Harefield United

I think there should be a few neuturals tomorrow, maybe non leauge groundhoppers etc. I know that more lapsed Edgware fans are coming back to the club now. It may not sound much, but our ave has jumped from 45ish to around 80ish so far.

I explained in another thread that I can't make it due to not wanting to drive and the fact I intend to have a heavy night tonight and lay in bed until 14:30 tomorrow!!

Gavin - I think you're right, one of the Man United Websites has also picked up on it:

It may be a lot of exposure but it isn't necessarily balanced. There hasn't been a lot of the Harefield slant on the situation has there? There was abig piece in Friday's independent on the decision too.

I didn't see the Independent on Friday so perhaps someone can find a link, clearly it has become very high profile. I don't think Harefield can complain about the decision but why don't any of their officials, players or fans come on here to banter about it and give their side of the story, as I say every SSML Club must know about the Forum by now.

As I've said before I personally think Harefield have every right to complain about the decision. The referee made a mistake but that's football, that's life in fact, so everyone should just get on with it although the referee should be reported etc. however I think it sets a dangerous precident. For example I've been to games where one of the corner flags wasn't in place for part of the game, technically that is an infrigement of the application of the laws of the game and the result shouldn't have stood as the officials should have been doing their job. Does that mean those games should be replayed???

Thanks, Lato - good article, methinks. See The Sway made it 6 in two games then? Redford and Cooper better watch out!
