Great Form

I have to admit to being totally wrong with my opre-season views regarding the vurtues of turning full time and indeed the squad that LD has built

I think the full time training has helped hang on to many results and be very strong right up to the last seconds of a game

We actually look like what I have always decribed as a "propper conference side"

By that I mean defensively strong (apart from stafford!) and defensively set out in the 5 3 2 formation, where the 5 are all defenders and everyones mind is set on not conceding. This only works of course if you have a "Striking Cobra" up front and we do in Charlie. As long as he stays fi t we'll be ok

1-0 every week suits me!

The onkly change that I would make now would be to "rest" young Luke. He seems to have lost all his early season trickery and ability to take guys on and score. Sodje is a better bet just now, with Luke brought back in with small cameo roles for a while.

Well said RR. Nothing wrong with shouting crap when it is so and singing the praises when justified. I totally agree, Luke should make way for Sodje who I still don’t think that we have seen the best of yet. Our style of play has become very predictable of late with the ball continually being lumped over the top for Charlie to try and win against normally a much bigger defender. Still with Jon Keeling back we should have more options. He certainly made an immediate impact when he came on against Woking.

agree with RR apart from it is better when we have 5 defenders on in a 532 formation, i think it is better when Keeling is on left as it is then easier to switch to a 442 if the attack breaks down and we get caught on the break, also i don't think sash likes attacking too much and his crossing leaves alot to be desired though he appears to be a very good defender. I think the point being proved against Woking Keeling got to the by line for a cross that led to the goal Sash didn't get that far forward all game

Agree generally - but cant agree with the we are lumping it up to Charlie bit - all i have seen is ground football with some slick passing - a quick glance at the woking goal on conf tv should clarify this . . . not meaning to pick bones though as it must be hard to swallow pride and admit to being slightly wrong in RR's case - well done. Just everyone keep supporting and we can try to boost the crowd and we'll be just fine!!

Hey no Stu - it is the real RR here

I just speak as I find, and if I'm wrong I admit it

One thing's for sure though, I'm always there (always getting behind the boys whether we are crap or not) and will be tomorrow with my Posse

I just hope and pray it will not the scene of another FA Cup underperformance in Essex!

I think if we get an early goal we will murder them - they lost Maidstone for god's sake! But if we make hard work of it and don't score, Kingy will get them stirred up, in our faces and then .... no I don't want to think about it !

My pound coin is polished, my red shirt ironed, I have memorised my list of insulting things to shout at the Essex Boys (and its a long list!) and I'm raring to go ....

Tell you what Jeff,

Work late this afternoon until about 4:50ish and "impress" the boss and follow the game with me and Lord Chas on the Radio Kent website...

Now for the down side, there wont be uniterupted full match commentary on the website - but there will be full updates every ten minutes or so, and if (when) Charlie Mac scores the goal will be brought to you by the time Chelmsford kick off! There could be second half commentary - it all depends on how the other four Fourth Qualifying Round games are going involving Kent sides...

So there a big part of me that hopes that Chas and I arent heard too much this afternoon, but...

The signs are promising, but it's probably a little early to bestow that accolade on the current side. It's the final league position that matters, not the position about a third of the way through the season.

At work all day. Totally dependant on my wizard batfone, which Harry hates so much. At leat I can get live BBC text comentary. Would rather we win today, but a draw would still please me , as I could get my Fleet 'fix' during the replay.

A draw would suit me as I'd have a chance of knocking you out of the prediction cup!
Seeing as I'm 8-0 down from the first leg through not making a prediction.....

.....however, would prefer a victory today.
