Personally I think the 'Quote of the Month' item is a bit childish as I don't go out of my way to say these things and they are all serious statements. If you must play these games then I have to say that the 'winning' quote last month was very disapppointing as everyone (including you) knows I am not arrogant and am a very genuine guy, personally I would have chosen the following if I was interested:
"I described him as a ballet dancer recently but I think even Nureyev would be hard pushed to do some of the things I've seen Takumi do with a football".

Potters Bar Town - Your thread is popular I see and seems to say it all about 'quote of the month'.

No it means everyone has read it, voted on it and then ignored it. I realise this is obvious to everyone else but sometimes I think our good friend Mr Rhodes needs the obvious spelling out to him.

Well although there have been 76 reads/views of the thread there have been only two actual posts (before this one), if people were that interested they would have surely had something to say rather than just voting yes or no.

Rhodes I find quote of the month very entertaining!

I think some of the things you come out with are very imaginative and make me laugh.

I think we should do a quote of the month and then in at Christmas or something do a quote of the year!

Keep up the good work Rhodes. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

Rak - That's nice of you to say but I don't know whether it's good or bad, I don't make up stuff to say on here by any means as it is the way I speak normally as you well know. How come you don't have an Under 16's game this morning by the way, it's the League Cup today.

We have a bye in the league cup I believe. Sometimes the Harrow Youth League don't give everyone a fixture, its quite perculiar.

Yes you do speak like that in real life!

I just like the way you describe things, although sometimes over the top and repetative!

That's the beauty of it Rhodes. You really don't realise how stupid you make yourself sound.

Rak - A Quote of the Season is planned. Assuming that this vote comes out in favour of the Quote of the Month competition continuing.

I disagree, where have I said anything that can be construed as nonsense, I told everyone from day one that Kentish Town would be playing in a Brazil '70 style this season with an element of Leeds in the early 70's and Arsenal in the 30's thrown in for good measure, I also openly stated that we were likely to be looked upon as the Man Utd of division 1. I still stand by those two statements, Arlesey Athletic typified the latter yesterday by playing out of their skins and were the best team we have faced all season.

Eagle - That's because I didn't bother, I still feel it is a bit of a waste of time, particularly Potters Bar Town's as he has to compile all the 'quotes', I'm sure he has better things to do particularly going to seven games a week.

100% of the people who responded didn't agree with you Rhodes! That's a pretty impressive vote!

As I said last month (your selective memory clearly letting you down again, Rhodes), it takes a couple of seconds to cut and paste a quote onto word and about five minutes to create the poll. The only time consuming bit is wading through the vast number of idiotic statements to select the best ones to shortlist!

Don't know if you can condense it into one, but you have to include the ridiculous references to the 6-1 win over Arlesy Athletic - best team we have played all season -their goalkeeper kept the score down to 6-1 singlehanded etc.

Sorry lads, but that one hasn't quite made it. However, it's in good company. Here are some of the others that haven't made this month's shortlist:

"I bet he (Glenn Shurety) kept the score down to 9-0 single handed."

"there is some great stuff played in Division 1 such as our (Kentish Town’s) game with Brache Sparta earlier in the season (8-2) that had absolutely everything and people were coming up to me in their droves saying it was the best game they had ever seen."

"Kentish Town have not been involved in a poor or dull game all season, indeed the dullest was probably our 8-2 win over Brache Sparta."

"the game (Brimsdown Rovers v Kentish Town) has all the makings of an old fashioned classic and I even suggest that some of you give your own games a miss on the day and attend, I'm sure you won't regret it."

"my feeling is that they (Hoddesdon Town) don't want to show their hand to us so early in the season where their programme is concerned and hope that the game is put off until late April"

"you (Lato) often confuse me"

"Lambourne who must rate as one of your greatest and shrewdest signings of all time"

"Kentish Town will be in the SSML Premier Division next season whether you like it or not"

"The engraver may as well get to work now Tony Jacklin and Tiger Woods style as they walk up the eighteenth."

"he (Aki Achillea) knows that many of their (Hertford Town's) die hards all post on here and was obviously keen to paint himself in a good light following my comments about him, clearly his painstaking efforts paid huge dividends which goes to show how he operates"

"Saturday's episode with the postponement has really set us back light years"

"you'll be laughing on the other side of your faces when we (Kentish Town) get the game on in late July to kick off Sunderland's pre-season build up"

"Perhaps I have opened up a can of worms without realising"

"Coaches like Clement (Temile) don't grow on trees at SSML level"

"(Brimsdown Rovers) beating 'the mighty' Eton Manor 8-0 is not result of the century in my book"

"'Sugar' threatened to go to my employers to get me sacked for being a nutcase, what does that tell you about the man, it's not me who needs a psychaitrist."

"to not welcome a man like Clement Temile into the fold with open arms and make him Head First Team Coach on the spot shows that he (Aki Achillea) doesn't have the best interests of the Club at heart hence their sad league position"

"Josie is purely an employee at Haringey and does as she is told by the hierarchy, namely 'Sugar', George and John, if she is told to jump she asks them how high."

"she (Josie) is a nice person but my guess is that 'Sugar' told her to be even more friendly than she is normally in order to give you (Hertford Town) the time of your lives"

"they (Haringey Borough) really went to Town on Hertford for reasons stated earlier and virtually gave them a five course meal"

"He(Potters Bar Town)'s a tall imposing looking chap but always with a serious look on his face as if he has the weight of the World on his shoulders"

"I think you will find that Keane wears the trousers at Sunderland, Brian Clough style."

"Even if we can't groundshare at Ashburton Grove Arsenal will know a man who can help us as early indications show they are mortified that we are forced to live this nomadic existence and are known as the Bedouins of Non League football."

"Haringey should be a Step 2 Club at the very least and should certainly be knocking on the door of the Conference if not the Football League itself."

"The SSML Management Committee and fixture Secretary in particular are amongst the best and highly regarded out there for their common sense approach and the way they go about their day to day business."

"The SSML is very highly regarded in the corridors of power at the FA and in general football circles"

"I didn't want to come across as biased however following Bimsdown's recents 12-0 aggregate wins in the FA Vase and London Senior Cup and five wins from five in Division 1 it goes to show how good we are having almost beaten them"

"one of the players we weren't expecting to play missed being best man at his best friends wedding to play, that says it all about our players commitment."

"this [brimsdown Rovers v Kentish Town] was the most eagerly awaited clash of the season so far and, as predicted, an old fashioned classic that gave a whole new meaning to the phrase end to end stuff"

"I certainly appear to have replaced Gavin as the 'whipping boy' of the Forum which I feel is unwarranted"

"the Liverpool v Newcastle game of a few years back that had everything including the Collimore hat trick was end to end stuff but that pales into insignificance compared to the game at Brimsdown"

"He[bradley Drisdale]'s going to be the next Craig Bellamy except twice as fast, sorry three times as fast"

"I told everyone from day one that Kentish Town would be playing in a Brazil '70 style this season with an element of Leeds in the early 70's and Arsenal in the 30's thrown in for good measure"

If any of you are disappointed that some of the above didn't make the shortlist, wait until you see the ones that did!
