Sunday Fixtures

Recommended Posts

Having looked at the weather forecast for the weekend it will be touch and go if pitches in this area will be playable on Saturday. That so, why don't they put the matches back a day and play on Sunday when it will be warmer and with a spot or two of rain to melt the frost? Can anybody say why this couldn't be done, League clubs play whenever they like it seems and the gate would be better because all the pro clubs would have played on Saturday. It makes sense doesn't it?

I assume that there would be due consideration of the impact that such a move might have on Review League football in the city. In these days of financial restraint, I'm not sure Saints Supporters could continue to deliver the high standards currently on offer (unbeaten this calendar year) at fortress Greenwood Park should its fan base be lured away by the supposedly superior semi-professional product.

I was informed by a smart [****!!****] admin type recently that Ryman rules are that a game can only cancelled on the day of the game IE 1201 am on the day

Clubs are warned or punished for an earlier announcement

Might make it very difficult to "make public" the re-arrangement to Sunday

If this is true then the blazers would need to make a rule change so all things possible circa 2004/5
