FA Youth Cup 3rd Qualifying Round

Recommended Posts

Gary Worth hailed his players after their 'superb battling display' earned them a place in the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup.

His Dunstable side came from behind to win 5-3 in a see-saw encounter at North Greenford last on Wednesday night with Ryan Quinn rounding off his impressive display with two goals.

Worth purred: "That was as tough a game as we expected. The game got off to a frantic start with them scoring in the opening minute, but then we got one back in the first minute too. It took both sides a little bit of time to settle after that.

"We went in 3-2 down at the break and we sat down in the dressing room and I told the lads that this was a tough test and we needed to step up - and they did."

Three second half goals mean his side will now face Gravesend & Northfleet who dispatched Tonbridge Angels 5-1 on Tuesday evening.

"We are expecting another stern test when we face Gravesend," Worth added. "But we are all looking forward to it. No one wants this run to come to an end."

I was training with the first-year PASE team today, a few of who look to be involved in the game versus Dunstable, there's a good belief about them that they can get into the first round, they all seem to be fired up for it, and they're all a good, hard-working group of lads!
