Yes we all know whay you are not involved in that this year. As you [****!!****] up the entry requirements and continuously try to blame someone else for your clubs failure to do things the proper way.
Paulb - How on earth would you know, are you part of Potters Bar Town. Our FA Vase entry is a bit of a can of worms and a sore point, we should have been in the competition this season and may well have done a Hillingdon Borough if we had of been.

No but you have gone on about it and eventually PBT gave us the truth so we all knew.

Paulb - Well how can you be so sure that it's the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, there's no smoke without fire you know.

Let's put it this way Rhodes. Kentish Town entered into a groundshare arrangement with PBT which did not allow them to play FA Vase matches. They presumably did so because the overiding factor was the need to be able to play senior football in the SSML first and foremost over and above consideration to any other cup competitions. They were forced into that situation by what had happened the previous season at Haringey Borough at a time when YOU were on the committee of Haringey Borough. Therefore, the position that YOU now find yourself in as Secretary of Kentish Town is a direct result of a decision that YOU were party to as a committee member at Haringey Borough. Yes, the Chairman may have had the final say on the matter, but you were in a position to influence and make your views count and, however you want to dress it up or cover over the cracks, you must take at least part responsibility for the decision and, therefore, Kentish Town's current situation regarding FA Competitions.

Paulb - I can't work you out mate, you seem very knowledgeable about the beautiful game and I'm sure you're a nice guy but why are you putting Kentish Town down when you know full well what we are trying to achieve and the painstaking work being carried out at the Club. If we were the joke everyone seems to think we are then why has your mate Safraz joined us, he's no mug and knows which side his bread is buttered.

You still haven't got it, have you? It's you that is being put down, not Kentish Town. Nobody on this forum has a problem with Kentish Town other than the fact that you continually make them, and the players, out to be something they're not.

Saf - I didn't want to hype you up too much even though I easily made you man of the match on Saturday:

Saturday 18 November

Spartan South Midlands League Division 1

Arlesey Athletic 1 Kentish Town 1

In a game that only really came to life in the second half, Town were once again thwarted by their reputation by a team they had beaten 6-1 at Claremont Road only three weeks previously and who, as Cockfosters did last week, treated the fixture like a cup final.

The game started slowly with both teams sounding the other out and Town appeared somewhat apprehensive to go for the jugular early on. Once again Town were without two leading lights in Aaron Hutchins and Daniel Young and Hutchins in particular has been sorely missed in the heart of the defence with his commanding, and never say die, style of play. Arlesey were making a mockery of their lowly league position by troubling Town and forced a number of free kicks in wide positions which keeper James Noonan did well to confidently field in his six yard area.

Lee Scott then proceeded to miss two good opportunities for Town in the space of five minutes and in identical situations when through on goal with just the home keeper to beat and really should have done better. Scott’s strike partner Dave Dawson also got in on the act when presented with a good chance in a central position only to fluff his lines. The first period then petered out into somewhat of a stalemate with few people in the sparse crowd of 29 realising what excitement would be in store for them in the second half.

Town brought Terry O’Leary and Nicky Rifat into the fray after the break for Chris Zanre and Shaka Cole however they had both barely touched the ball before Arlesey were awarded a penalty kick on 48 minutes for a harsh handball decision in the Town penalty area. Arlesey star man Mark Phillips, who had been a constant thorn in Town’s side, took great delight in slotting the ball confidently home sending Noonan the wrong way.

It was now a test of Town’s character having been in a similar position last week at Cockfosters and to their credit they took the bull by the horns with Scott prominent without really creating any clear cut opportunities as he had done on a regular basis in the first period. That changed on the 58 minute mark however when lively debutante Safraz Pivano gathered the ball on the right and squared it superbly for Scott to skilfully side step a defender as if he wasn’t there and rifle an unstoppable shot into the bottom right corner.

This was the breakthrough Town were desperately looking for and with half an hour of the proceedings still remaining confidence was high that the three points were virtually in the bag. Aaron Serieux replaced the injured Dave Dawson who had taken a battering from some muscular defenders and with the home side appearing to tire, Town were by now very much in the ascendancy. Against the run of play however Arlesey proceeded to hit the crossbar following a melee in the penalty area and Town were lucky to escape unscathed. This seemed to act as a wake up call and for a while Town were camped in the home half of the field without making their presence felt and with the clock worryingly ticking down.

Arlesey had a defender dismissed late on for aiming a kick at Serieux however it was a game played in a good spirit and the Referee might have been more lenient. Time eventually ran out for Town in a game where it was very much two points dropped as opposed to an away point gained and Manager Frank Zanre and Coach Clement Temile could not hide their disappointment as they trooped off the field of play.

Town are not involved in league action on Saturday and instead travel to Enfield based Whitewebbs to play an obligatory Hertfordshire Senior Centenary Trophy 1st Round tie, kick off is at 1.30 due to Whitewebbs not having floodlighting.

Town Team: Noonan, B McMullen, Malcolm, T McMullen, Kanaris, Cole, Pivano, Looney, Scott, Dawson, Zanre

Subs: O’Leary, Rifat, Serieux, Cox

The vast majority of the silly critical comments on this forum are the over the top hyperbole that comes from you (critical doesn't always mean bad, as you know). In any case, why would a player (or coach?) need to write to the local paper asking for support from politicians when the club secretary works for the MOD and supposedly is on good terms with the (often severely criticised for not doing a very good job) Police Commissioner Ian Blair?

Well I can't be seen to be looking for favours or preferential treatment at at work, if I was able to then the Club would have had its own ground built by now in Camden. Anyway Sir Ian Blair does an excellent job, I am at a loss as to why so many people get on his back.

Folks - Some of you might be interested in our press report from Saturday's hard fought win at New Bradwell St Peter, enjoy!

Saturday 2 December

Spartan South Midlands League Division 1

New Bradwell St Peter 2 Kentish Town 3

Town’s depressing run of four games without a win finally came to an end at New Bradwell St Peter’s Recreation Ground home in Milton Keynes however Frank Zanre and Clement Temile’s men were made to fight tooth and nail for the three points against stiff opposition and it was only after the break that Town’s class finally told.

Town started brightly and laid siege on the home goal forcing panic in the defensive ranks, Aaron Serieux was cautioned early on for an over zealous challenge on the keeper which upset his team mates although the ball was there to be won. A back pass was then picked up by the harassed keeper giving Town a free kick inside the penalty area from just 12 yards out although this was wastefully blasted into the wall and cleared for a corner.

The young New Bradwell side, who had been comprehensively beaten 3-0 at Claremont Road in September, began to find their feet and were matching Town well in the tackle, James Noonan made an excellent save on 25 minutes blocking a point blank shot with his feet. The encounter really came to life with 10 minutes remaining to the interval when Town were awarded a penalty kick for hand ball following a run by Lee Scott down the left. Scott stepped up to the mark himself, prising the ball away from an equally willing Thomas Looney, only to see his shot well parried and the rebound from Aaron Hutchins was also blocked by the imposing keeper Greg Langsbury.

New Bradwell missed two good opportunities with the clock ticking down for half time, Noonan first blocking well and then an inbound shot being hit over the crossbar from close range. Disaster struck however right on the interval when a through ball beat Town’s flimsy offside trap and Anthony Grubb ran through unchallenged to beat Noonan in a one on one situation. No sooner had the ball entered the net than the Referee blew his whistle, much to Town’s frustration.

New Bradwell started the second half in a positive fashion and almost caught Town cold straight away with the ball sailing over the bar. Scott then proceeded to go close but again Town were fortunate when a swift counter attack resulted in New Bradwell going straight down the other end to hit a post with the ball finally bouncing away to safety.

On the 65 minute mark a superb run by youngster Roberto Quattromini, who had replaced the suspended Daryl Malcolm at left back, made an overlapping run before crossing superbly for Lee Scott to score from an acute angle with the ball being deflected off a defender high up into the roof of the net. The goal gave Town new heart and following excellent work from substitute Daniel Young on 75 minutes, who was back in the squad after a frustrating four game injury lay off, Scott gathered the ball in a trademark fashion some 20 yards from goal and slotted a precision shot into the corner of the net.

Terry O’Leary was then introduced for the hard working Serieux and Town enjoyed a purple patch of neat flowing football with Young in the thick of every move as if he had never been away. Just as Town had the sense of victory in their sights New Bradwell got themselves back into the game on the 80 minute mark following a corner that was poorly defended on the near post, the ball travelled a long way before Jack Alder poked it over the line from close range.

A draw looked very much on the cards at this point however with 6 minutes remaining Town were awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area which Thomas Looney pondered long and hard over before hitting a sweet drive directly into the net with a slight deflection off a defender. Town were able to play out the remaining time fairly comfortably to earn a valuable and heart stopping three points to stay in the thick of the championship hunt.

Town entertain high flying Ampthill Town on Saturday at Claremont Road, weather permitting, in what promises to be an excellent match, kick off is at 3.00.

Town Team: Noonan, B McMullen, R Quattromini, Hutchins, D Quattromini, Cole, Kanaris, Serieux, Scott, Looney, Zanre

Subs: O’Leary, Young, Cox
