Bark

Whilst walking to work this morning, I came across a bit of tree-bark that was in the exact shape of the continent of Africa.

 

It was probably about 7 inches long from the north coast of Morocco to the south coast of South Africa.

 

Hard as I looked, I couldn't find any bark in the shape of Madagascar.

 

I wonder if any of this has any significance??

 

If it's there when I go back after work, I may pick it up and keep it. I might even scan it tonight and post it on here tomorrow.

Zealster, could I suggest you find a bit a bark that is larger than the bit you need then cut out a Madagascar shape. Voila!

 

You could then extend this to create a map of the rest of the world in only a few days.

I had a brief look for the bark on the way home from work last night and couldn't find it. It was on Woodstock Road, so I wondered whether GHA have pinched it on his way home from school.

 

However, I spotted it again this morning. I'm regretting now that I didn't pick it up, but being daylight, I decided against it at the time.

 

Maybe at lunchtime.
