i hope chelmsford beat the kent scum!

Have you not been paying attention? They already played Maidstone on Saturday so the Kent scum is last week. Now they're playing "Conference Promised Land" North West Kent men of style Gravesend and Northfleet. 4th in the Conference now you know, 96th best team in England.

Hows life in whatever crap league you're in? Who have you got in the Vase or FA Trophy qualifying?

Had we won that we would have played Boston (everyone except me has been there) and last season had we beaten Kettering we would have played Stevenage at home, we played them the week previous before anyway. So if offered those two or the draw for this saturday I know which one would take. What we want is something interesting where we haven't been before, we probably would have lost to Boston lost to Stevenage and we may well lose if we get Brentford, Gillingham or Notts Forest in the 1st round this year but at least it will be interesting for us.

If the glass is half empty it means your that little bit closer to being drunk and that is what you call an optomist.

wouldn't say they are horrible grounds, they are multi purpose so the rest of the community can use it for things like athletics, always been the way and the locals love it!1

Stuff the locals, I wanna hear the players swear and stuff.

Pics from our pre-season match over there are here.

And match report

Looks like the place will be dead, except for our end. I know you can't judge the fans by the ground, but the running track always kills atmosphere as you're further from the pitch- only Scott's drum will be able to reach across, and no tinpot Essex drum! DOesn't look like a football stadium, as Super Urchin said, it's a multi-purpose complex, and it doesn't much look like it'll have a football-ground feel, unlike Stonebridge Road.

from where we stand at the bridge it is about 10 feet from the pitch which isn't really that far,i think chelmsfords stands are a bit further away but we don't have any extra space from the pitch apart from the track so it doesn't feel that bad,we still get to abuse all the away players as much as we like and can make for an intimidating atmosphere, love it!!!

Never having been to Chelmsford ground before, whats it like, covered uncovered etc ?

Basically, it's like a miniture version of the Withdean Stadium (Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.).
I came here in pre-season and you are miles from the pitch, although the view is good from the stand. Seeing that the game will not be segregated, us Gravesend fans should take over the stand. I would have thought the views from pitch level would not be too good, though others may say otherwise.

There is a nice bar there, we need one, obviously. Last season when I went to get some food, chips were £1.50 and they gave me a small place of about 20!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cheeburga.gif" alt="" />
