Trophy Draw

That was an awful day. They played the tie on a sunday cause (i think) both bristol clubs were at home on the saturday - policing issue. Not that that detered the hoads of local lads who came down to ensure many a canvey fan went home with cuts n bruises after having to 'run the gaunlet' thsat they kindly set up for us outside the ground. Not one of my best away days with CIFC - but nonetheless one I'll remember for the wrong reasons. If it goes to a replay tread carefeul when you go down there - people from this part of the coutnry weren't made to feel particuarly welcome.

Sort it our at first attempt.

As you say, just concentrate on getting the job done first time round.

....And I think it would be unfair to the fans of mangotsfield if I didn't say that all the trouble was from people outside of their club. They seemed like a decent bunch of folk (realistically as per any group of non league fans)- but were clearly infiltrated by large groups of outsiders at the final whistle.

Bristol Rovers hoolies apparently. I missed all the punch up because I was on the phone to my dad at the time. About 6 cop cars turned up after all the trouble had stopped. Scary thing was we had to wait outside for our coach to turn up!!!!

Remember some drunken woman coming in our end just after we'd gone 2-1 up bellowing in a Westcounty accent "Ya think we're all just a bunch of yokels!!!" Was absolutely hilarious!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

That was a strange day, nearly 3 years ago to the weekend actually.

Are you sure ?

I went to that match - yes, it was on a Sunday - and it was all very quiet and peaceful as far as I can recall.

There was definitely trouble at the game. You may have got out before it all kicked off. It was a good 10 minutes after the final whistle this all happened.

Absolutely certain dagger - all quiet and peaceful i think not. The difference between Yellow & I is that while he was on the phone to his dad, mine (in his 60's) was next to me on the floor taking a pasting.
You weren't partaking in your avatar's influence by anychance ? Puts a slightly different viewpoint on things !!!!!! Always found it dont mix well with football, kinda dampens ones appreciation of the atmosphere as the shouting becomes too intense.
