HUGE article on Edgware in the NLP today!

Recommended Posts

Re the penalty decison and the replay of the Harefield game. They have a very large headline that says "Edgware were right the ref was wrong"

Goes on to say how we were in our right to appeal and that the FA and the Spartan League both agreed the game should be played. Also says Edgware Town have made footballing history!!!!

It mentions that the £50 the club had to pay to the FA for an appeal has been paid back and ends the article saying a replay WILL take place.

I hope we get a really large crowd for the re arranged match, there might be some neuturals that wont to come to the game due the cicumstances around it.

If anyone has got todays copy of the NLP and can scan me the article so I can put it on my blog site it would be much appriciated

LOL I did buy one, I just dont have a scanner, if you have a scanner can you scan me the article so I can put it up on my blog site? I see the paper took coments from Paul our secretary and Steve our manager. Funny how I told the NLP about the story but they never got back to me or gave me a mention.

Still, a good article, and a huge headline <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Take pics of the match? do you mean when the game is replayed? will you do a follow up article?

I am sure there will be some interest when it eventually does get played, as with the Midlands game involving Boldmere....

From a personal point of view, I hope neither game gets replayed, but FIFA set their stall out in the World Cup qualifiers and once the ball starts rolling - and Jose, Alex and Arsene get to hear about it - well, put it this way..you ain't seen nothing yet.

Pandora's Box had nothing on this can of worms...

I dont think it will be that bad as some people are making it. Remember it's the letter of the law that was not followed, not an error that happens during every match week in and week out.

Even the NLP had their referee contact give his view and he agreed that a replay was right. He also reckons that the ref in question will be given a punishment that fits the crime

I take it that no one got a copy yesterday then?
Rhodes who usually would copy and paste and article from the NLP relating to the SSML has not even made a comment.
Gavin - Just got home from work and haven't been in the Forum all day, no doubt that will have pleased a few people such as Potters Bar Town. Your post is timely as I have yesterday's Non League with me now but cannot for the life of me find the article unless I am going blind in my old age, if you let me know what page it is on I may type it out later on this thread or on the one of the actual game but you will owe me a good drink for doing so!

It is on page 5 not page 6 and yes I couldn't see for looking otherwise I would have typed it out last night. I don't have time now as I'm off to Cranfield but if nobody has posted a link or scanned it in by the time I get back about midnight I'll do it then. It's a shame HTFCew is in ferret and cloth cap country at the moment as she would have scanned it.

I am going up on the train and then it is a long way from Bedford station, there is apparently a bus route from the town centre that takes over an hour but I want to make sure I'm there in time to do the team sheet as most of our players can't leave London till after 5.30.

I'm changing my prediction for KT tonight then... not sure if the journey to Cranfield can be done in time for kick off at that time of night!!

Walkover to Cranfield...
