South East Essex College abandoned all it's lessons at 2:30pm as students and staff couldn't make it into Southend.

C2C had Donald & Douglas out ploughing the lines at 11am.

Buses were in total gridlock and the road works at Hamlet Court Road made things worse!!

it wasn't just colder...it was definately deeper...and white as well...!....in my day we had to get up for the paper round at 4am...then walk 14 miles to school through 2 feet of snow...it always snowed in those days....and then had football training in bare feet and a cross country run over 6 miles of the most barren terrain imaginable...it would have frightened 3 commando to death....when all that was over with..we then had to walk back home another 14 miles through the freezin' snow and ice for the evening paper round....all for 2/6p a week (old money).....I was tellin' some of our players all this the other day and when I looked round...the bar was f*****' empty.....no respect these youngsters....!!!..... <img src="/beta/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
