Clash of the titans!

Recommended Posts

With Hertford winning, the scene is set for the biggest game in the Spartan league so far this season. Yes, bigger then even any games Rhodes cares to mention.

Next Saturday Edgware v Hertford, both teams level at the top on points, Hertford with a four goal better GD. Edgware with 3 games in hand if you include the replayed Harefield match.

Edgware should get their biggest crowd for a long time, hopefully we can get well over 100, as I fully expect Hertford to have more travelling support for this game then they did for the Vase game.

I expect a tighter contest then the recent vase game which we won 3-0.

It's looking like two ex Isthmian sides from last season, are going to be fighting it out for the championship, even at this early stage.

It should be a cracking game next week, lets hope it lives up to it's billing.

We had 153 today, Gavin, and Ware v Enfield was also on, 3 miles away!

Excellent crowd, thats the biggest in the league so far isn't? Hertford have decent support, there is no question about that. Edgware are getting a few back from the past, and hopefully we can get over 100 on Saturday. It wont look good if the top of the table game with two in form sides cant get 100+. That said, I REALLY do think we WILL get a decent gate.

I am sure some locals who have not been for a while will check the local press and see that this IS the biggest game of the season so far.

Leverstock Green are still the dark horses in this league. Who will be the first team to beat them? It will be interesting to see how they do against Edgware on Tuesday.

Also, if they do win the league, will their ground pass the required grade? I don't think so, unless they do a lot of work on it.

If Leverstock win the league, I dobut VERY much they would be allowed to go up with the way their ground is. It's a wonder they are allowed to play in the SSML Prem, as they have virtually no seating area, sparse cover, and have CARS parked inside the ground, both behind the goal and along the side. That said, there is room for them to build on I would imagine, specially behind one goal where the is a noticiable gap between the goal and the standing area.

Most grounds in the SSML Prem seem to be picturesque, but offer very little in the way of terraces/seating areas.

Most of the the teams must think its great when playing at Edgware's WLG, at least we have a proper terraces and seats, as do Hertford

Pic of the goal at leverstock that is a distance from the standng area.
