If I have got it right, and I am relying on the wonderful website that Jeff Trice has put together, then next weeks trip to Leyton is our 110th Birthday.

 

Jeff records that we played our first game (at home) against Wye on 28th October 1896 winning 5-1. A chap called the Reverend Edward Taylor-Jones was the Hockton of his day with a 1st half hat-trick and the other goals were scored by Cheattle and Archibald Farnfield!

 

So - I make it PARTYTIME!

So some of the supporters on the coach suggested that we should do a mad hat day to celebrate the clubs birthday, but with a halloween twist being that it will be halloween on the Monday after. So get all your halloween cotumes out of the attic or buy new ones and head your way down to Leyton.

A hat day eh! This is fine by me - with so many hats maybe Hockton can have a hat-trick!

 

We could add a few other nostalgic items. A few supporters rattles,some baggy grandad shirts, a ball with the laces in, Frankie100, jumpers for goalposts......
