If you support the Fleet then support the Fleet Trust

It was good to see that Liam and Alan have joined the Fleet Trust. Having just attended the National Conference of Supporters Direct and listened to some pretty inspirational speakers there, the benefits to the game and supporters alike of democratic participation and a say in the running of clubs at all levels, now appears to be irresistable. The most effective way to achieve this aim is to become a member of the supporters Trust for the team you follow. At G&NFC this is The Fleet Trust.

I was rather taken aback to learn that a number of our more high profile supporters ( OK, so this is a relative concept - we are afterall talking about Gravesend & Northfleet ), who are, for example, involved in the media or contributing to the Matchday Magazine, have either never been members or are not currently members. I don't intend to name names, but they will know who they are. I fail to understand why anyone professing to be a genuine supporter should decide not to support the Trust. The more supporters who join the Trust the more capable it will be of providing financial and other assistance to the Club and players alike. If Liam and Alan are pleased to join then so should everyone else.

So if you are not yet a member, or simply haven't renewed your subscription this season, aim to do so this Saturday. You know it makes sense!!! Up the Fleet!!!
