Town 0 Redbridge 1

After the first quarter of an hour they defended on the half way line and we didn't have enough forwards with pace or stamina to get behind them.

Towards the end of the game as they tired we were able to push them back but there they defended in depth.

Fenny knew the style of his opponent and played to our weaknesses.

Fenn's tactics worked perfectly for Redbridge. They defended well and their goal was well taken. We just couldn't break them down. You cannot blame the forwards as they had very little quality service.

To be fair. What sort of service would our forwards have benifited from? They naturally couldn't win any highballs. They also allowed their defender to jump in ahead of them and toe poke the ball away when a short ball was played to them from the midfielders.
Yes,the midfield were poor, but having crace and Hammett up front does limit their options in what sort of ball they can deliver to them.

Our forwards produce when they play against big slow defenders or small quick defenders. But they ALWAYS struggle aginst big/quick defenders,no matter how limited those defenders might be in actual footballing ability.
