Staines v Slough Town MATCH THREAD

excellent team performance, cant fault a single player except for the defending leading to the staines goal, where one of their players was allowed to sneak round the back without being closed down. other than that a confident performance well played.

superb goal from davies, i had a feeling that any first goal he scored was going to be special, and it was...an early contender for gots.

bartley looked very good on the wing, he had a lot of space tonight and did well to take the goal.

up the rebels!!

Awesome performance - did us proud tonight. Ended the match with Telemaque playing on the wing and Wilko limping around midfield!

Boys were excellent tonight - even better than saturday. Must point out a couple of people though, first Mark Bartley who worked his socks off, scored a goal and kept CJ out of the game. This despite me being worried when his name was on the team-sheet. So glad he prooved me wrong.

Second is Wilko. He seems to get better with age. Can someone please give him a drugs test!

Third is Mark Leach. Leachy was outstanding at the back for us tonight and I think that's his best game for us yet.

Must say I was worried when we missed those chances early second-half, but held on really well and great scenes at the end. It means a lot to the players, which is what fans want.

Hope Terry Davies was not injured. Wallo also seemed to be struggling a bit second half as well after an awesome first-half.

Oh and Terry Davies, goal of the season no question. Reminded me of the goals I usually score all the time!

Great performance from the boys tonight...

Thoroughly deserved the win and in all honesty we should have won by 3 clear goals.

MOM... all eleven players.

Special mention for Leigh Mason who seemed to be playing left back and played a blinder.

Jarvo said he had a slight groin strain and didn't want to risk it and should be OK for Saturday... if selected

An excellent victory and it deserved to be more than a odd goal win. Everybody played well and the team as a whole deserve plaudits for turning things around in the last few matches.

Great team goal for the first finished by Mark Bartley who has never played as well for Slough as he did tonight. The Davies goal, well, see the footage when it makes the web. That was fantastic.

Staines Massive eh?

Everybody was marvelous tonight and fully deserved their standin g ovation at the end.

Was also nice to see how Davies celebrated the win with Drake after the game had finished. Has only been here two weeks and has already formed good relationships with the players?? Can only be good for team morale.

Great performance and result again. Loads of effort and will to win.

Everyone played really well but Bartley has been a bit of an unsung hero for us recently. He looked solid today, did the simple things well and finished his goal well. I also thought the back four looked good and Mason did well as cover at left-back.

Fantastic strike by Davies, one of the best goals I've ever seen a Slough player score. Can't wait to see that again on the highlights. Not bad for a winning goal at all, and it was great to see him rush over to the travelling support to celebrate.

Well done and let's keep this going in the coming weeks boys.

Finally, a classy advertisement on page 26 of the programme. Make sure you ask your girl whether she wants Staines on her knickers this Christmas!

What more can i add - what a superb, battling performance played at 100 mph, we just never gave Staines enough time to play, and i think Errol had something to prove - why the hell did Staines let him go?

The move for our first goal was excellent, and as for Davies volley - unbelievable.

Great atmosphere...and Matt Miller came on for Slough near the end! What more could you want from a night out

I am still in shock ! what a game ..what a goal...

Now that was team work....simply the best for ages.. well done....your MIGHTY REBELS...

Again we took well over 100 supporters maybe 150 , Staines were at home and we must have out numbered them ... ! not bad for a team without a home , and travelling (away) to every game and its not as if we have been winning !! Thats why I would like to say thanks to all our supporters who have stuck with supporting the rebels..

cheers chris

I echo what everyone else has said.

Fantastic performance, best yet. The first time we have gone ahead after being pegged back, this season.

Bartlett played a blinder on the wing, Wilko fighting in midfield, Steve - the rock in defence with a brilliant block in the last few minutes.

And what can I say about Davies ? Definately goal of the season, if not goal of his career. With a celebration to match.

Plus the return of Matty in the last ten minutes from the bench.

Well done Rebels, lets keep it going.

Gutted about last night for obvious reasons, but good to see Slough doing well under difficult circumstances. Also pleased to see the likes of Gary again. Although I am dissapointed with some people at the club, as Slough man, I wish you all the best for the season, and hope the council do something to find Slough the new home that the club deserves.

Peace

Ecko everything stated above superb performance by the whole team played they with spirit and passion.

How refreshing to see the midfield players supporting the stikers in numbers when in the box something I haven't seen from a Slough side in years.

The Supporters deserve credit as well I missed saturday's game so for the 1st time this season it was good to hear them singing and getting behind the team looks like they have have something to shout about at last.

Note of caution the next month will be hard with the strikers suspended and injuries to key players still things look on the up at last.

Agree with almost everything. Although nobody has mentioned Daly. Thought he was superb last night! Everybody played so well though!! Hardest time ever picking man of match and hon mentions!

Mason was superb at left back!

Bartley a revelation at right wing!

Wilko...was.Wilko!

George Moleski............I've eaten my hat!

To name a few !
