in all honesty i make mcbride right,we drew with a team 5th in the conf south(two leagues above us) and were the better team second half and someone goes and gives it to one of their players,poor show i am afraid!!!

I chose the mom of the match rob albeit I was doing a live commentary at the time I was asked....I was asked who the best player on the field was in my opinion and I said bodkin...I still think he was....that is my opinion and hardly a poor show...just not an opinion that you agree with.. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 

we have always been magnanimous at the bridge and have given mom awards to other visiting players before (altho it has to be said this was before colins time)....

 

various people pick mom and this is not the first time that a manager has complained about the award...even when its been our own players.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

opinions are healthy and I also often wonder what game the sponsor has been watching when mom are awarded....the problem on saturday is that the sponsor was not at the match and colin had asked his daughters (who work for the sponsor) to pick mom...trouble is he didn't tell anyone in the office so I was asked....colin and I had a chat about it yesterday and also a chuckle....it was a non event and colins thoughts (misquoted by the sun) were as a result of his disappointment at not winning the game on saturday more than anything else...'twas a storm in a tea cup and not worthy of the suns print costs..there was much more in that game worth publishing.....

 

no big deal and there will always be differences of opinions about mom....as for whether they should go to visiting players....?...well I can see colins viewpoint there and if that is so we must make the awards 'hx man of the match' and make that clear in the programme and to the sponsors... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

we had him in our goal of the season last year... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

we scored both goals on saturday which is why jonboy (who is deffo a closet urchin) got excited...
