wow...........

what a game.....20 minutes and could have been 3 down as the urchins came to terms with the pace of the conference south...as it was we went behind to a very surreal goal that no one in the ground including the welling players and fans thought had gone in....but the tide turned as the red and white army got behind their team and the team fought their way back into the match...well before half time we had got on top of the game and half time was a disappointment...we wanted to carry on....

all urchins after the break in front of a noisy and happy crowd of 800 urchins and 200 wings and the equaliser was coming and it came....janney who else...to a cascade of tickatape all over the pitch from the eastside....end to end after that and a magnificent cup tie and a credit to non league football...the fa cup and more importantly hx football club....

we could and should have won the match in the last 5 minutes with two excellent chances but we didn't and its onwards to welling wednesday and thankfully the asterisk in the officials sheet means that non of the three today can do the replay....the ref was a fckn joke and fortunately the honesty of dale brightly cleared the bizzare welling goal up...it did cross the line and then rebounded back to dale and off fletcher but in fairness it seems that it was over...well done dale.......however....how the fck the ref who was on the halfway line spotted it I don't know but there it was...a goal and another strange fa cup refereeing decision from a ref.....many many silly mistakes and an elderly overweight ref will deffo have been pleased to see the back of this game...

1-1..fair result and I fancy us even more at welling next week....great day at the bridge and a full 90 minutes of co-commentary from me and I never swore once....nice to see old faces and friends and the urchins are back...

did we ever go away...

Great game, best one I have seen for a few months.

Welling never scored, we scored twice and a one all at the end of the ninety (think about it).

We should have won the game, as it was never going to be Welling's day. Role on the replay.

I must say when I left the ground today i was reflecting on what could so easily have been and to be honest I felt a little disappointed. We could so easily have won this one. But what a performance! If Steve McClaren is looking for "passion and pride" he wants to come and watch The Urchins. We showed more pride and passion in today's 90 minutes than the England team have shown in ages. The Eastside were brilliant and The Riverside showed more emotion and made more noise than I can ever remember.

Absolutely first class but if only .....

Saw Dale Brightley at the station coming home tonight. Seemed very upbeat about the replay and admitted the goal was an own goal.
