As I'm deperate for a game, I watched Hong Kong play Guandong in the Interport Cup. Bearing in mind that these guys are pro's, the standard was crap. I don't think either of them would make any impact in the Ryman.

 

Still it did get lively in the 2nd half, 8 booked and 1 sent off, bit of local rivalry there I think.

 

The atmosphere was strange too, 4,000 in a 40,000 stadium, no singing, no abuse, nothing....

 

I need you guys to keep me informed of what's going on, so if if you get any snippets of info, no matter how vaguely interesting stick them on here.

 

It's worth a beer or two.

The club are pleased to announce that following an extensive interview procedure Gary Roberts has been appointed First Team Manager. Gary has vast experience as a player and manager at this level and worked wonders in his two previous managerial posts, firstly at Baldock Town where he took them close to promotion to the Dr Martens Premier Division with a very small budget and then at St Albans where he guided them to the top of the Ryman League earlier this season. He was introduced to the players yesterday evening and will take training on Thursday as the team prepare for the trip to Folkestone on Saturday.

Gary has agreed an initial 18 month contract but the club believe he will be the right manager to lead the club for the foreseeable future and be instrumental in helping the club to gain its ultimate aim of Football Conference status

I guess if City is postponed and we're looking for another game we have a game to see to. I seem to remember us getting quite into Cambridge City last season when we were suspended and went to see them play Hendon at the park!
