Attack! Attack, Attack, Attack!

How about new year, new style of play for BTFC? A nice attacking line up for Tuesday evening:

JJ

Penn Juho Mooro

Henty DannyK

Willo

MGraham RGraham

Ansell

Wallo Douglas

Subs:

Fewings, Fay (gk), McD, Me, Somebody Else

Reckon that'd create a few chances! Not ordinarily a fan of 3 at the back, but with Juho and Rusell pushing up into midfield would be good and attacking.

JJ

HENTY RANTALA MORRO KERIGGAN

M. GRAHAM WILLO PEEN R.GRAHAM

WALLACE FEWINGS

SUBS: FAY, ANNSELL, MACDONALD, DOUGLAS, GILLEY

picking that shows how poor our squad in terms of strength in depth is that we have basically no choice but 2 waste penny in midfield or play 3-5-2

n having 2 mcdonald n gilley in da squad shows how weak da squad is

would rather see fewings given a run, hard luck on jamie but he and fewings are both strikers that hold the ball up and to be honest i reckon given a fair chance fewings would be better, but no doubt we are going to end up with wallace and ansell as they are both cheap to have on the books.

if the club is struggling to pay good wages for players, anyone want to take a guess at how much the grahams are costing us a week? i agree we would be knackerd without them but it would be interesting to know what our two star players get.

Surprisingly I do remember that game BUT think on this.

How can you expect a player to give his best when he isn't match fit after being injured? Gary Calder had plenty of time before that game to get him match fit and intergrate him back into the team, what with Roy looking at a 3 match suspension but didn't. So please tell me how on earth you can blame the player if he doesn't get the chance to get match fit?

Again, if memory serves correctly, on the day, the whole team was out thought, out played and out fought. So you can't blame just one player....The whole team should shoulder the responsibility, from the bench to those on the field (With perhaps, the exception of Jamie Wallace, who was the only player in a blue shirt that showed spark on the field)

As I've said before I would like to see Fewings given another crack at getting a place in the side. However my worry is that he seems unable to play a full 90 minutes for us. He has started 11 games and been substituted in 10 of them. Pre season was much the same: started 5 out of the 6 games (came on as a sub in the other) but failed to finish any. By way of a comparison Essandoh was substituted 3 time in his first 11 starts.

Simon, you are statto!!!

But it is a management decision to take a player off the field and when there has been a substitution this season, the decision as to what player comes off has sometimes been a bit strange to say the least (not that I would argue with the manager...of course not). In light of that, surely then Fewings is just the unlucky one in a lottery (Okay, you could argue that GC wanted a change up front to change the game but that doesn't mean he played badly). The only time I thought he shouldn't have played was at Havent and that was only because he wasn't given the chance to get match fit in the previous games even when our "star" striker was facing a three match ban!!!

Fewings is a good striker (or was and still can be). I concede that yes, at his previous club he was injury prone but he did still score a few goals. He holds the ball up better than anyone we have in that position and does read the game better than some on the field. The only gripe I have is his lack of pace but with a pacey striker playing with him, I can't see that this is a problem.
