Gav - don't think our good friend Krooner was saying what you think - was making the point that they MIGHT have been able to raise their game. Can understand your feelings about this game, guess I'd have been the same if it had been Hertford, but don't get excitedyet. Can guarantee that the league table won't be altered yet. Probably will be eventually, but you'll have to contain your excitement for a while, I reckon mate.

...
Can you tell I am excited? LOL I want the league table changed NOW!!!! dont you or Elaine do the Spartan site? or the Mito site? Go on, put Harefield in 6th place, and move us up one, it would be a laugh

NO, because that is human error and we all know that refs/linesman make errors. This as I said is the letter of the law, as stated in law 14 of the FA rules, (football rules in general for that matter)

I dont know all the ins and outs of football laws, but I know that night he made a fundamental mistake that cost us the game. The fact it happened against a side that are going to be there or thereabouts with us for the league made it EVEN more of a huge mistake.

Sure, this IS going to have a huge bearing on the outcome of the league, SHOULD Edgware draw or win the replayed match, as Harefield would have dropped points and we would have gained, should we get a result.

It will be interesting when someone comes up with a video of an offide that was given or not given and they can prove the other way. Do when then replay that match. Yes the ref made a huge [****!!****] up but there is nothing to say that either Edgware would of scored the retake or that Harefield would not of won 5-1 cos they upped their game after the spot kick. Nothing against Edgware but this could cause huge problems.

....

You need to edit your post krooner as some of the words I dont have any idea, as you made some typos. Re the match, sure there is no way of teling we would have scored, but at least we would have had a second chance, and though I am sure upset if we had of missed after being told to re take, I would rather that then not being given the chance.

You say Harefield were on top after the penalty? were you at the game? Edgware dominated the second period, and we were unlucky not to score on several occasions.

Easy tiger. Sorry about my spelling and grammar, not quite as perfect as you.

My point was the fact that yes he made a mistake but no-one can predict what might of happened after. I wasn't suggesting for 1 minute that Harefield were on top for the remainder of the game but more that they may of been if the penalty was scored.

My whole point is that there are many instances, especially at our level, where law is contravened. If I was a club I would now employ a professional cameraman who could capture all these incidents on tape and then appeal every game that we didn't win.

I repeat, just in case you didn't understand, that I have nothing against Edgware but this is bad for football.

Re the decision? I wonder if it will make bigger news. Seeing that its the first team as far as I know or have heard that its happened in the UK. Only other case was the asia world cup qualif last year, and that made world wide news!

Imagine if the papers got hold of the story, Edgware and the SSML would get a lot of attenion.

Fair enough Krooner, BUT what people seem to be forgettng is that YES mistakes are made at EVERY game by officials BUT this was the letter of the law, a technicality he got wrong, not just, "oh it should be a free kick, but I gave a goal kick"! etc.

Sure it could open a whole can of worms, BUT...on the other hand something could may come out of it.Offiicals will have to up their game or else.

You are wrong there Gavin. If a player clearly hand balls it and it goes out of play and the ref gives a throw in then he clearly has contravened the Laws of the game. Same as an offside. If it is wrong then the laws have been contravened. You cannot just say they are mistakes. So we need to appeal all of those as well from now on.

Interestingly when Edgware benefit from a decision that contravenes law will they put their hands up and say, no we must replay the game ?
