EDGWARE TOWN v HAREFIELD UNITED

Recommended Posts

Wow! Can of worms.. Of course, Harefield will appeal to the FA, and it will be March before the points are taken away from them - if indeed they are!

I know about the precedent. But are you saying that the FA have heard an appeal from Harefield already?

WOW, so we ARE going to get a replay. The FA will have to stand by thier decison, as you say, it's happened before.

This is going to be replayed some date later in the season, could have a huge bearing on how the season ends up. I would love to see the faces of the Harefield board when they learn that not only do they have to replay the game BUT they have also lost 3pts LOL

Edgware have nothing whatsoever to lose in the replayed match, as we lost already

The FA were at the meeting, and I would imagine that either a representive of Harefield was there, or they sent some paperwork.

Even the FA brand of justice includes an appeal procedure. I've no axe to grind either way, but it's not going to happen until Harefield have exercised (or foregone)their right of appeal.

They can appeal all they like, but the FA wont back down, and if they did change it, Edgware would just re appeal.

Harefield dont really have a case. I dont see why Hertford should shed a tear for them. It means that the league could be between yourselves and us, with Harefield tyring to make up ground.

Harefield haven't 'lost' any points until the game is replayed!

They'll only have lost points if they lose or draw the replayed game.....

This is ridiculous. Perhaps we can do the same for a cup game against Cuffley last season that our reserves had abandoned etc etc etc.... Joke!!

Rubbish, they WILL have the 3pts they 'won' taken off them. The inital game will be like it never exsisted, points wise. Otherwise, what you going to do? give them another 3pts if they win? making it 6pts for winning one game.

Will be interesting how far this precedent can be taken.. I say it's a bad thing. Refs making mistakes is part and parcel of the game
