What happened today was criminal, everyone concened with the club should feel ashamed, I was of having anything to do with that heartless performance.

We, the paying public should at least be enitled to an appology.

Once again, overpaid prima donnas laugh at us and we are expected to get behind them.

The sooner this mismanaged excuse for a club is closed down the better.

Shame on you Steve Browne, shame on you Slough Town and shame on you Martin Deaner !

Well said, not sure about closing the team down but the peformance was woeful.

Sentiments expressed are the views of a lot of fans, but who are not so vociferous, yet valid all the same. We pay our money week in, week out too. We deserve better respect from the players and staff of STFC

OK, maybe closing the club down is too drastic, emotions running high, but this regime MUST be brought down, at any cost.

Dream on mate. Anyone half way close to chopping down the likes of Deaner Browne and Co is treated as a threat and bumped out by the sicko-phants. The writings been on the wall for three years now but they must put something funny in the half time tea to make sure nobody reads it. The club dont need to be closed, it needs to run away like the Dons and hope the loyal fans stick and movers and shakers come back.

HOW I SHUN ROT - anagram of Serve With Honour which none of todays outfit on pitch and off understand.

of course we should, It's just that, after such a scoreline, I believe all football fans are entitled to at least 5 hours of anger, followed by a fresh attitude for forthcoming games.

I disagree. Get behind the team---yes, all the way. Get behind Browne--a different matter altogether.

The only people who strongly support Browne are Hornchurch fans.

Its over 2 years since "Pants day". The fans were, and there were exceptions, fed up with Browne then. He said he was going at the end of the season---but recalled himself due to popular demand---bit like an Iraqi election if you ask me.

We will struggle to finish 4th this season. If we don't, then it will, in light of the league reorganisation, be the 3rd seson in a row we have finished lower than the previous year under his leadership. How bad does his record have to be before he goes?

Getting behind a manager and giving him a chance is one thing----continuing to encourage someone who is out of his depth will not benefit anyone.

Tactically I thought the Northwood manager got it right in the second half.He could see that Gyoury and Daly are very slow on the floor, although they're great at headed tennis, surely we only need one player to do the heading. That's why the Ricky Browne/Steve Daly was a lot better.Browne is more mobile than Gyoury. There was times in the Northwood game when we was just being caught for speed.McCann who had an awful game, was heard to shout-'let's play at our tempo' to the outfield players.Slough's tempo is too slow.Perhaps this is the Michael Gilkes influence as he cannot run the whole game.

I was also astounded with the substitutions,Barrowcliff and Metcalfe were at least playing with a bit of heart.Spencer had one of his better games.I thought Gilkes and Williams should have gone off.Winston looked totally uninterested yesterday. How can S.Browne/M.Deaner expect the supporters to back them with such an inept, gutless performance?

I agree. Although I do like Gyoury I think that Steve Daly needs someone a bit more mobile next to him. It's a bit like when Daly and McPherson played last season. They both did not look comfortable together, whereas if one of them played with Stott (who was comfortable with the ball) then they looked fine. The lack of pace at the back was a big problem yesterday.

Barras should not have gone off, but I did see the thinking behind playing Gilkes as a wingback. Maybe it's time to get a new left back and put Barras back in the middle.

Williams does not get involved enough for me. He gets forward very well like Veli, but Metcalfe was left a bit isolated yesterday in the centre allowing them too much room.

AND PLAY THE BALL ON THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally felt gutted by the abysmal performance because I was starting to believe we were back in with a shout of second place. It was embarassing what happened and neither the manager or players can have any excuses.

Unfortunately its been on the cards for a while, it just need a decent side like Northwood to hurt us. After getting an early goal against Yeading we let them back into it and somehow managed to keep a clean sheet until we got our second. Much the same against Marlow.

Defensively we were poor - how many times have we conceded goals from corners and crosses that could have and should have been dealt with either by the keeper or the back four. Harrogate played with passion but for all their graft both goals should have been stopped. With the exception of Northwood's 3rd (which was sensational) the goals we let in were terribly soft. Gary McCann can't be made a scapegoat but I do have my doubts about his aerial ability. He's a good shot stopper and regularly makes saves that I think are beyond him, but his positioning and ability to deal with dead ball situations and crosses leaves much to be desired. Zepherin has his faults with concentration and kicking the ball, but his aerial prowess has certainly increased on last season.

I'm not a fan of Browne's management but I can't deny he has done well to assemble our squad which is good enough to get us back in the Premier, but tactically there isn't much. I don't believe getting rid of him during the season will do us any good, not least because of the personal relationship he has with a number of the players. On top of that who really is going to want the job with the future as bleak as ever? The best thing we can do is draw a line under this performance and hit back with a win against Wingate. We've still got some very big matches coming up, not least against Wealdstone and Harlow.

Saturday was a huge setback, disappointment and embarassment to Slough Town, the players and supporters. Things must improve.

This comment isn't necessarily meant to be anti Steve Browne but isn't his ability to assemble the current squad more about what we're paying them rather than any particular desire by them to play for either Steve Browne or Slough Town?

Surely if you offer part time players large amounts of cash, anyone could assemble a good squad? It's what you get them to do once you've signed them that makes the difference.

Shambolic, embarassing and disastorous.

We played well for 10 minutes and then sat back and allowed the game to pass us by.

It was the first time I have ever felt ashamed of the team. This is worse than the Stevenage drubbing.

The flaws in the performance were obvious and numerous. Yet the management seemed non-exsistent. Whilst I agree that once the team has been sent out there is little that can be done, there were obvious things that could have been said.

The defense sat way too deep. Whilst I realise that this is because we are afraid of pace, you have to ask why Browne has signed McNally and Gyoury who are carbon copies of Steve Daly. We also cannot defend set pieces and this occurs too often. This has to be worked and it clearly isn't being done successfully.

We were completely inept going forward with the exception of the one incisive move leading to the goal. This is when we look good getting the ball down and playing it out wide and using Gilkes strength. The rest of the game was spent hitting long and/or over ambitious passes. This was in the least wasteful and was compounded by the fact that the forwards were repeatedly caught offside. I kept shouting for them to watch the line. Why wasn't the manager doing this and why isn't he coaching them to avoid repeating their mistakes?

I agree that Browne has bought some decent players to the club but he cannot get them to gel as a unit. He is also repeatedly, obviously and embarassingly outwitted tactically.

My conclusion is also obvious, Browne msut go. He has developed a fractured club with no spirit and passion. Northwood showed that with a little fight a team can be devastating in this league.

I feel another season has been wasted. The real problem is that we have still yet to have confirmation on an extended lease and the club once again faces extinction. We are no longer a name in non-league football but a laughing stock.

Of course, I will continue to support the team and try to encourage the players but I know in my heart it is fruitless when they are so poorly managed and motivated.

I hope Browne and the players prove me wrong but once again we are in the position where we need a long unbeaten run to get out of this league.

Not so. He's the only regular who hasn't had his kit sponsored--says volumes about what most fans think about him. The nearest he's got to being sponsored involved 2 fans discussing the chances of it reaching the programme if they sponsored him under the name of Anne Rsole. Well worth the £50 in my opinion.
