Just got to drop everyone connected to Spurs from the England set up. Players and backroom.

 

We have never won a major tournament with Spurs players, our greatest embarassments have been with Spurs players in the team (eg USA 1 England 0 1950), England in 1966 only gelled when Greaves of Spurs was dropped and Hurst came in.

 

Get a proper goalie and never consider Defoe again as he is crap and while we are at it Venables should be removed and let McClaren do his job

On the basis of what went on before (our 6-3 and 7-1 hammerings in 1953 & 1954), I would agree, and they did beat them in the qualifiers 8-3(although that defeat did help Germany keep away from Hungary until the final). We did get to the quarter finals even then, only losing 4-2 to the then holders Uruguay.

Mclaren is an idiot, in our biggest group game he decides to change the formation. Why on earth did he play Scott Parker, who i thought was our worst player out ther, what on earth has Parker done in the premiership. I was watching the football and i was thinking i wish Eriksson was still in charge and i was glad he left. Mclaren needs to go this is not premiership football where you have 37 other games if your chosen formation goes

wrong, that is what international friendlies are for.

 

I wasn't happy when he got appointed and therefore i will finish this post by saying;

But he was the England full back in the USA game in 1950 plus the first player to be sent off playing for England was a Spurs player too.

alex,parker has been a top player at newcastle for over a season now,he is twice the player carrick is,i can't believe that utd think carrick is worth 18 million quid that is the biggest rip off of all time(apart from rio being worth 18 million then 30 million to utd)

If I recall correctly Alf Ramsey was one of those England players who had an international career terminated by that 6-3 Hungarian defeat in 1953. I don't think he missed many penalties though so we could certainly do with him nowadays.

I agree get rid of Defoe, also Bent, Johnson, McClaren and Venables. Bring in "MARTIN O'NIELL". The best manager in this country since "king CLOUGHIE". Also get rid of mardy ar**s such as Ferdinand.

Johnson & Rooney would form our best strike partnership. He is just the player Rooney needs to run the line and create the space for him. He can also bang-in goals himself.

Venables said before Saturdays game not to judge the team on the previous 3 games, however he also wanted the FA to give him a job permanently based on the same 3 games!!!!

Well now we have had 2 more games to judge the team and him the conclusion is the team is not good enough and he is extra baggage.

I know the FA dont understand the value of money, based on the waste of Wembley, but Venables going would save thousands.

I will have to say the last two results have knocked my confidence in the England team. All those good players and we produce cack like that. I agree with JJ we will be very lucky to qualify if we carry on like this. Now its a long wait for the next qual game. I think its holland for a friendly soon i think. Prediction hol 4 eng 0!!! if we carry on like this! sorry just p1ssed off!
